Knights of Columbus St. Matthew #14360

Knights of Columbus St. Matthew #14360 We are a Knights of Columbus council who put our faith in action and serve St Matthew Parish, home of the Father Michael McGivney Playground.

We are one of the newer Knights of Columbus councils in Connecticut, having been established in July of 2007. We are a group of men dedicated to serving our church and community here in Norwalk and remaining true to the Knights of Columbus’ founding principles of charity, unity and fraternity. The history of the Order shows how the foresight of Father Michael J. McGivney (pictured below), whose ca

use for sainthood is being investigated by the Vatican, brought about what has become the world’s foremost Catholic fraternal benefit society. The Order has helped families obtain economic security and stability through its life insurance, annuity and long-term care programs, and has contributed time and energy worldwide to service in communities. The Knights of Columbus actually began not far from here in New Haven, Connecticut with one council and several members and has grown to over 15,000 councils and 1.8 million members worldwide!

WHAT IF YOUR CHILD DIDN’T HAVE A WARM COAT THIS WINTER?

For some children in our community, that’s not a “what if.” It’s a reality.

This September 26–27, the St. Matthew Knights are once again partnering with Coats for Kids to help ensure that children in need have a brand-new winter coat.

Last year, YOU made a difference.

Together, St. Matthew Parish helped provide more than 1,100 coats through our partnership with Norwalk’s Family & Children’s Agency.

This year, we’re raising the bar.

OUR GOAL: 1,200+ COATS

A new coat costs about $25.

$25 can keep a child warm.
$25 can help a child feel cared for.
$25 can remind a child that their community hasn’t forgotten them.

HOW YOU CAN HELP

Cash donations will be collected after all Masses on September 26–27 at St. Matthew Church.

You can also make a secure online donation:

DONATE ONLINE — LINK IN COMMENTS

Every dollar matters. Every coat matters. Every child matters.

1,200 coats. 1,200 children. 1,200 reasons to give.

Let’s come together once again to warm a child’s winter.

“Whatever you did for one of the least brothers of mine, you did for me.”
— Matthew 25:40

Please give. Please share. Please help us reach 1,200 coats.

Happy Feast of the Nativity of the Blessed Virgin Mary!

Today, September 8, we joyfully celebrate the birth of the Blessed Virgin Mary, the Mother of our Lord Jesus Christ and our spiritual mother.

Mary’s life is a beautiful example of faith, humility, obedience, and complete trust in God. Through her faithful “yes” to God, she became an instrument of His saving plan and a model for each of us as we strive to live our Catholic faith.

May we ask Mary, our Mother, to guide our families, strengthen our faith, and lead us ever closer to her Son, Jesus.

Holy Mary, Mother of God, pray for us!

From all of us at Knights of Columbus St. Matthew Council 14360, may God bless you and your families on this beautiful feast day.
