“If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask God, who gives generously to all without reproach, and it will be given him.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭5‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Definition of wisdom, biblically: the practical ability to discern God’s will and apply His truth to everyday life. So basically, if there is something you don’t understand, ask. He wants you to ask Him before you try to figure it out yourself and make choices with really bad consequences. He wants only the best for you. Have a blessed week.

“Whoever is slow to anger has great understanding, but he who has a hasty temper exalts folly.” Proverbs‬ ‭14‬:‭29‬ ‭ESV‬

You’ve heard the expression, “you can’t unring a bell”. Well, many things have been done or said in the heat of a moment that can destroy years of trust because we let our emotions take over. But if we learn to absorb the situation and say a quick prayer before reacting, we can save a lot of heartache. Let Christ shine through in all situations. Have a blessed week.

“He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also, he has put eternity into man's heart, yet so that he cannot find out what God has done from the beginning to the end.”
‭‭Ecclesiastes‬ ‭3‬:‭11‬ ‭ESV‬‬

The sooner we realize that we really have no control and quit trying to force things, the better off we are going to be. We view life as we are looking at the backside of a tapestry, not understanding the beautiful picture on the other side. But if we knew everything would we follow through even though we knew the heartache it would cause? That’s why it’s called faith. Let Jesus finish the picture he started with you. Have a blessed week.

“but God shows his love for us in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭5‬:‭8‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Jesus died for us, not because we were making great choices, but because he loved us, in spite of those choices. When we truly look at his sacrifice, it should change us inside. Today isn’t about burgers and hotdogs. It’s about all the men and women that chose to sacrifice what they knew so we could keep living the way we were. We need to look deep into what they did, and for some, it should truly change their lifestyle. We live on the greatest place on earth. Someone has to die so someone else can truly live. Jesus and the American military personnel have proven that point over and over. Freedom isn’t free. Let’s not pretend it is. Have a blessed Memorial Day.

“Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old has passed away; behold, the new has come.” 2 Corinthians‬ ‭5‬:‭17‬ ‭ESV

Well, it’s graduation time around the area and the new graduates are getting prepared for their future. Once graduated, they can’t go back, no matter how bad they want to, but have to keep moving forward. We need to have the same attitude with our past life. Once we “graduate” let us know that the old ways are no more, no matter what. Learn from it, but not stay. That we need to keep pursuing the cross and receive our “diploma” (crown). Have a blessed week.

“Even before a word is on my tongue, behold, O Lord, you know it altogether.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭139‬:‭4‬ ‭ESV‬‬

We will fall into times that we feel misunderstood and that nobody can fathom what we are going through. We forget that there is a God out there that knows us so well, that He knows our thoughts before they become words. So there is no reason to give up hope, because there is someone there that does understand us and wants the best for us. Let those words praise Him. Have a blessed week.

“Blessed is the man who remains steadfast under trial, for when he has stood the test he will receive the crown of life, which God has promised to those who love him.”
‭‭James‬ ‭1‬:‭12‬ ‭ESV‬‬

When life gets tough and starts feeling unfair, we need to remember that we have been told and reminded that we will see trials. We also need to remember that it’s not our fight. We are called to stand firm, Jesus has fought and won it for us. So stand behind His promises and be protected and receive your crown. Have a blessed week.

I took courage, for the hand of the Lord my God was on me
‭‭Ezra‬ ‭7‬:‭28‬ ‭ESV‬‬

Anytime that you feel called to do something, it’s natural for fear/doubt to creep in and the. you want to start questioning why you thought it was a good idea and can you really complete the task. But knowing that Yahweh put it on your heart and that His hand will be with you, should calm you. The Heavenly Father is there to catch you when you stumble ( because you will). The world wants you to fail and will try anything to make that happen, and He will pick you back up and dust you off and will keep encouraging you. So take courage and complete your task. Have a blessed week.

“In my distress I called upon the Lord; to my God I cried for help. From his temple he heard my voice, and my cry to him reached his ears.”
‭‭Psalm‬ ‭18‬:‭6‬ ‭ESV‬‬

How reassuring is it as a believer that it doesn’t matter the situation, when we cry out to our Lord, he hears us. We never have to second guess that, but we need the faith to stay on course while He answers it the way He sees fit. He has our best interest at heart. Call to Him. Have a blessed week.
