Once again, Saint Mary’s would like to have a team help at the Town Clean Up Day, continuing our participation last year as part of our 100th Anniversary.

We would LOVE to continue to participate in town events. Please use this link https://forms.gle/N9wEk28hBzd8n2LK7 to sign up for our team. Once our team is formed we will be in touch about when and where to meet.

There is no need to sign up with the town, we will sign up our team.

This is a fun way to support the town as parishioners of Saint Mary’s.

This Sunday in the Catholic Church carries a quiet but beautiful surprise. During Mass, priests will wear rose-colored vestments, the rarest liturgical color used in the entire Church year. Rose appears only twice—on Gaudete Sunday in Advent and Laetare Sunday in Lent—and it signals a moment of joy in the middle of seasons that are normally marked by preparation and penance. The color is a gentle reminder that even while we wait, repent, and reflect, the light of Christ’s coming and the hope of Easter are already breaking through. It is the Church’s way of saying: pause, rejoice, and remember that God’s promise of salvation is drawing near.

Dear Families in Christ,

The season of Lent, which begins on Ash Wednesday is almost upon us.

“Lent” is derived from the Old English word “lencten” meaning “spring” or “rebirth”. As the earth undergoes a renewal after the toll of winter, we undergo spiritual renewal through prayer, penance, almsgiving, and self denial as a means of preparing to celebrate Easter.

Lent is a time to refocus on God’s unconditional love and mercy, revealed to us through the Paschal Mystery, the death and resurrection of His Son, Jesus Christ. It is time for us to clean up our lives, instill better habits, and recognize that not everyone in our world is as fortunate as we are.

Our lives are filled with so much noise. Lent is a chance to silence some of that noise, at least momentarily, to focus on the most important things in our lives. Just as Jesus found a way to escape regularly into the desert from the crush of people crowding around him, we are invited to change our routine.

How can you create a little space for yourself to refocus your spiritual life this Lent?

Please find the schedule for this most Holy season in this post. All services will also be live streamed on our web site.
