NO WORRIES!!

"Worry" is something that we should avoid as children of faith. However, it sometimes finds its way into our thoughts and depletes the joy that we are meant to experience.

In these verses, Jesus is giving the disciples encouragement for worry...

Mat 6:30-34 NET 30 And if this is how God clothes the wild grass, which is here today and tomorrow is tossed into the fire to heat the oven, won’t he clothe you even more, you people of little faith?

31 So then, don’t worry saying, ‘What will we eat?’ or ‘What will we drink?’ or ‘What will we wear?’

32 For the unconverted, pursue these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them.

33 But above all pursue his kingdom and righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well.

34 So then, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Today has enough trouble of its own.

One day at a time is enough to think about. Each day produces problems and difficulties.

To worry about the future is foolish in two ways:

1. It will make it more difficult to deal with today’s problems.

2. The things that we worry about may never happen.

Vs 32 tells us that God knows the things we are in need of contrary to the unconverted always seeking. Worry is a fruit of unbelief!!!!

Continue to have faith in Gods word that if situations look out of control....... God is still in control.

Have a blessed weekend!

The chants on Capitol Hill Right now say,
“America we’re not done…..intifada’s just begun!”

One benefit of studying Gods word is you learn what certain words mean. We should all research what that means in Arabic. BTW Arabic was the language Jesus primarily spoke. BUT THIS IS NOT HIS MESSAGE.

What We Know

Our level of spiritual growth to spiritual maturity is directly tied to the patience we exercise when going through troubled times, trying times, and testing times...

Profiting from Trials
2 My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3 knowing that the testing of your faith produces [a]patience. 4 But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be [b]perfect and complete, lacking nothing.

Trials can be a real test of our trust in God, but when we meet them with the right attitude, they serve to prove the quality of our faith.

We know that:

1.)God is the Lord of all.
2.)We know that he will help us.
3.)God has allowed the trials to come to prove our trust in him and to make our faith stronger.

When trials come, we can still have joy because we know that we can overcome with Gods help. Each time we overcome, we are stronger to fight the next trial.

After trials, we must go on in our trust in God, overcoming each test.... Then ....the trials will achieve the purpose that God has for the situation we are in.

As Christians, we should grow up and be mature in the life that we have with Christ, We will lack nothing, and we will be prepared to accomplish all that God has planned for us. This is the purpose for the trials.

In this life, no person can be perfect, that is without sin, and this is where trials originate. One day, God will make all those who belong to him perfect, and trials will cease.

But until then, continue to stay steadfast in your faith..... God may not fix it when and how we desire.... but faith in His word tells us that it will all work out for our Good (growth spiritually) and His Glory in the end ..... So Lack nothing!!!!

Have a blessed weekend!

Confidence in Him

1 John 5:14-15

14 This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. 15 And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him

Confident prayers come from knowing God's word and His Promises.. We need to know what agrees with God’s plan......then we can ask for it. We must believe that God will answer us. Jesus said, "Whatever you ask in prayer, believe. Believe that you have received it. And it will be yours" (Mark 11:24).

Answered prayers provide 3 things

1.) Increased faith in the power of prayer
2.) Increased the proof that God hears you
3.) Increased praise to God for holding to his promises.

No matter how things look..... keep studying and keep praying.... God is still in the answering business!!

Have a blessed week!!

Walking Reminders

Sometimes when prayers have been answered ....... God still leaves you with something to carry to remind you of your blessing.

Joh 5:10-11/KJV v 10 The Jews therefore said unto him that was cured, It is the sabbath day: it is not lawful for thee to carry thy bed. v 11 He answered them, He that made me whole, the same said unto me, Take up thy bed, and walk.

Jesus told the man to do what seemed to be an impossible thing. He told him to stand up. The man had been ill for 38 years, and probably he was lying down during all that time. But nothing is impossible for God. The man got up and he began to walk immediately!

The people who were watching would have been very surprised. But the Jewish leaders were angry. This was because the man was carrying his mat on the Sabbath. This was not wrong in God’s law. God had simply told the Jews that they must not work on the Sabbath. It was a special, holy day (Exodus 20:8-10). But the Jewish leaders had added many extra rules about the Sabbath.

The end result was good, God got the Glory, but the healed man was left with a reminder.

Remember this when going through trying times

Reminders are good......

1.)Reminders always show what God has blessed us with in the past.......
2.) Reminders always make you realize He can bring us through our situation now.... and
3.) Reminders allow us to show others what God has done in our lives .....

Glory to God for Reminders

Have a blessed weekend!!!!

ALL Good

Have you ever been in a position where you struggled to find anything good in it your circumstance? Whether it is prayers answered in ways not thought of, trials that seem to have lasted a little too long, or even the transitions of loved ones. We have all struggled at some point to find Good in what we perceive to be bad.

James gives us help during those times

Jas 1:16-17 KJV 16 Do not err, my beloved brethren. 17 Every good gift and every perfect gift is from above, and cometh down from the Father of lights, with whom is no variableness, neither shadow of turning.

All good and perfect gifts come down from above. This means that they come to us from God. He does not send anything that is bad. He does not send the temptations that lead us to sin.

He does send the following...

1.)He sent Jesus to die for us to bring us new life.
2.)He sent the Holy Spirit to be with us and in us.
3.)He helps us when we have any troubles.
4.)He gives wisdom to those who ask for it in faith.

He gives us all that we need and much more.

In the Greek language, James calls God the "Father of the lights". The Jews knew God as Lord of all the powers in the earth and Father of the skies. It means that he made the lights in the sky. And he controls them. These are the sun, the moon, and the stars. They show us how great and powerful God is.

The light from the sun, the moon and the stars varies but God does not. They move and change. As they turn, they cause shadows on the earth. These may change and turn but God never does. God can't change. He is always the same. We can trust him because he is always good and kind to his people.

Since we serve and worship an unchanging God, Regardless of what troubles us, depress us, or makes our faith waiver...... if we can find the Good in it...... we see God!!

Have a blessed day!

Want it?

When living by faith, we may pray about some things, but to exercise faith, you have to look beyond your present situation and see it before it's manifested.

This verse may give some encouragement...

Joh 5:5-6 NET 5 Now a man was there who had been disabled for thirty-eight years. 6 When Jesus saw him lying there and when he realized that the man had been disabled a long time already, he said to him, “DO YOU WANT TO BECOME WELL?”?

In these verses.... Jesus asked the man if he wanted to be well. This seems like a strange question because the man had been ill for 38 years...... But Jesus wanted to get the man’s attention. Somebody say....

"Jesus, you have my attention"!!

He wanted the man to look at him. This was necessary to make the man’s faith become alive, and then, Jesus could cure him.

This reminds us about how we make our faith become alive. We must look towards Jesus on the cross. We dont do this with our physical sight..... We do it in our hearts and our spirits for help, healing, and peace.

But, we have to desire to Help ourselves before He will step in and bless us .

Have a blessed day!!

Power & Wisdom

1Co 1:24-25 KJV v 24 But unto them which are called, both Jews and Greeks, Christ is the power of God, and the wisdom of God. v 25 Because the foolishness of God is wiser than men; and the weakness of God is stronger than men.

In this chapter, Paul is having a conversation about division, power, and wisdom.

The Jews and the Greeks had different ideas of how God was to show power and wisdom.

The Jews expected wonderful signs when the Messiah came.. and so the Jews kept on asking Jesus for a sign to "prove" that he was the Messiah. But he refused (Matthew 12:38-39).

The Greeks thought that God did not feel human emotions. And they thought that he could not change......... Therefore, God could not become a man on earth. The idea that ‘the word became a physical person’ (John 1:14) was impossible. The Greeks also liked to discuss ideas. And they liked to speak in clever ways. The message about the gospel was simple.

Paul preached it in plain words. A crucified God seemed to be the mad idea of people with little education.

God’s plan was to save all those who believe in Christ. No human wisdom or great effort can bring anyone into a friendship with God. Sin has spoiled that friendship.

Christ’s death on the cross was not "foolish" and "weak." ‘"God’s thoughts are not our thoughts. His ways are not our ways" (Isaiah 55:8-9). The crucifixion was a sign of God’s wisdom and power. They are greater than any wise efforts that people can make.

There are a lot of things we may be confused about.... there are a lot of things we may be divided on ...... but who Jesus is should not be one of them.

Have a blessed week!!!!
