A thought for this Friday. Do you work with these 10 nuggets of guidance (33 The Series Vol 4):
1. Be motivated by the Gospel
2. Do your best and over-deliver!
3. Become an expert in your vocation/craft - Prov 22:29
4. Work well with others and encourage them. Find their successes and give them praise!
5. Don't be surprised when you recieve resistance because YOU WILL! Push through it!
6. Always work with integrity. Remember that integrity is acting the same even when no one is looking.
7. Maintain a healthy ambition
8. Be a learner of your trade. Constantly self-educate
9. Find a vocation you are wired for and enjoy.
10. Rest and celebrate. Work in seasons and cycles so that you don't burn yourself, others or your family out!

When I tell others I am a Christian I say it with the pride and peace of an amazing Savior and my identity in Him. I notice when those that profess faith elsewhere say the same thing, it is with the pride of their identity before Man. Where do you want to stand?

Good thing to remember guys!

Do you like to boast? What do you boast about? I know it's something I am challenged with sometimes.

It's human nature to want to boast, although it can be sinful. The question is not necessarily WHETHER we boast but WHO we boast about.

The book of Joshua in the Scriptures shows us the great affect of boasting about God instead of ourselves. The Israelites hadn't boasted about their military might but of what the Father did for them in the exodus out of Egypt. Rahab and the inhabitants of the Promised Land had heard of what God had done in parting the Red Sea and how He had gone before His people to fight for them. The Scriptures tell us “their hearts melted, and there was no longer any spirit in them” (Joshua 5:1).

Our God still fights for us and our families in this same manner today! So go boast about your God and what He has done in you, your family and your world! Watch its affect on others as their hearts soften toward the amazing Father we have!

While we may grow faint men, remember...

God has taken away in the person of Christ all the power that anything can have to hurt us. Well then, the army may safely march on, and you may go joyously along your journey, for all your enemies are conquered beforehand. What shall you do but march on to take the prey? They are beaten, they are vanquished; all you have to do is to divide the spoil. You shall, it is true, often engage in combat; but your fight shall be with a vanquished foe. His head is broken; he may attempt to injure you, but his strength shall not be sufficient for his malicious design. Your victory shall be easy, and your treasure shall be beyond all count. Bartimaeus could have chosen to stay bling and beg for the rest of his life. He could have continued to wait for others to take care of him. Most scholars agree that his father is mentioned because he was probably blind too. This was a generational issue.

HOWEVER, he decided to step out in faith to ask Jesus for healing. He pursued God and asked for healing even though it would have been a harder life fending for himself.

Where in your role as husband, father or man of this world do you need to take a step towards getting God's help with your situation?
