We are BACK and ready to help needy families in Tuscaloosa this Christmas Season! This has been an extraordinarily hard year for so many. With inflation on the rise, and parents are having to make the hard decision of paying bills or buying Christmas presents. So for many children in Tuscaloosa, they will wake up on Christmas morning to find that Santa didn’t come.

Please consider giving a tax-deductible donation to the Annika Joy Foundation where we will be providing a Christmas meal and Christmas presents to young children across Tuscaloosa County.

Please help support this great cause!

Please help support this great cause!

So we survived Thanksgiving, Black Friday, Cyber Monday, and now...today is ! Please consider making a tax deductible donation to The Annika Joy Foundation. We are collecting financial donations to fund our annual Christmas Project. Every year the Annika Joy Foundation helps provide Christmas gifts and a meal to local families who without our help would not be able to so on their own. This year has been especially hard on so many right here in Tuscaloosa County. Countless families have been impacted during the pandemic and subsequent lockdowns. As businesses closed they began to lay off hard working people who are even now scrambling to find a way to buy their children Christmas gifts. Can you step in and help provide a Christmas present to a child in need? Will you give to put food on their table for a Christmas Dinner?

Please help us be the “hands and feet” of Christ by showing love to a local family in need.

Dear Jason,

As yet another hurricane churns in the Atlantic, I’m asking you to join me in praying for children and families who have already seen so much destruction as a result of Hurricane Irma. The outer bands of Hurricane Maria are currently projected to make landfall in parts of the Dominican Republic on Thursday.

My hope is that this will be the last time I write to you about an impending storm, but as the wind and rains continue to rage in the Caribbean, so will our prayers for God’s children in these countries that we care so deeply about.

Please join with me in praying for:
A redirection of the storm’s path that will cause it to lessen in severity and avoid landfall.
God’s protection for children and families in the projected path of the hurricane.
Emotional and spiritual strength for those still rebuilding from Hurricane Irma as they now brace for Hurricane Maria.
Our hearts are heavy for the people of the Dominican Republic, who are in desperate need of relief. Please continue to pray for Emely De Jesus. Continue to lift these children and their families up to the One who rebukes the wind and the waves.

Your brother in Christ,

Rich Van Eaton
Sponsor and Donor Relations Director
Compassion International

P.S. In the coming days and weeks, our staff in the Dominican Republic will need continued support as they deal with the aftermath from this hurricane.

Our sponsored child, Emely, lives in the Dominican Republic...where Hurricane Irma made landfall. Please pray for Emely and her family. Here is a letter I received from Compassion International about what is going on in the D.R.:

Dear Jason,

On Thursday, Category 5 Hurricane Irma made landfall in northern parts of the Dominican Republic and Haiti.

Heavy rains and strong winds forced thousands of children and families to flee their homes and take refuge in evacuation shelters. The homes they left behind have been damaged and destroyed, leaving some with nowhere to go when the rains subside. Even as Hurricane Irma moves on, continued storm surges are leaving a trail of destruction in the form of flooding, landslides and power outages.

Compassion is committed to the long-term care of each child registered in our program. In the coming days and weeks, our partner church staff will visit children’s homes, assess their families’ needs and guide us as we provide for the families we serve in the Dominican Republic and Haiti. If your child is impacted, we will reach out to notify you.

Those affected by this catastrophic storm need our prayers. Will you join us today in praying for:
Church staff and emergency workers as they reach out to those suffering in the wake of this disaster.
Families who have been displaced by the storm, that they will quickly find shelter and protection.
Good health as children and their families struggle to find sources of clean water.
Compassion sponsors and supporters in the path of Hurricane Irma as it closes in on the Southeastern United States.
I know Emely and her family would appreciate your prayers right now. Thank you for your commitment to serving and ministering to children in poverty, especially in times like these.

May God bless you beyond measure for your faithfulness to His children.
