“His Dominion is Everlasting”

Reflections upon the Teaching in Daniel
Begins Sept. 13 at 9:00 am

While we find inspiration in the narratives and prophecies that occupy Daniel’s prophecy, God’s ultimate purpose in this work points beyond personal inspiration to something far more glorious. As God accomplishes his pleasure through four young men in the exile of his people, strange voices bear witness to the most vital and wondrous reality of all. Please join us as we consider familiar material in a new light. Presented by Dr. L. Timothy Swinson and Northport Covenant Church

It is with great sadness we announce that our Music Minister, and our dear Pastor's wife, Beth Ann Swinson, died June 9, 2026

Beth Ann Eikenberry was born on June 7th, 1963, in West Lafayette, Indiana. She met Timothy Swinson while they both were students at University of Kansas, and they were married on May 26th, 1984. Beth Ann graduated in 1985 from the University of Kansas with a BA in Music Therapy and Music Education. She served for more than ten years as a certified Music Therapist, and she taught music (mostly voice) for more than thirty years, privately and as a faculty adjunct at Trinity International University. She maintained that everyone can make music and sought to foster a sense of freedom and a love for music in all of those whom she served and taught. Beth Ann often associated various periods of her life by the music that could be heard on the radio, and she wrote and taught a song to the kids when they were very young that would help them remember their home address and phone number.

Beth Ann loved her gardens, especially her perennials, and wherever she lived, she managed to beautify the family home with her gardens in front and in back. This love of flora was reflected as well in her love of nature and the outdoors; on family walks through the woods, she would investigate and identify the flowering plants she would encounter. In addition, Beth Ann was the primary instigator of the tradition of Swinson family camping trips to Yellowstone and Grand Teton National Parks and in various state parks of Indiana and Michigan.

Beth Ann loved her family well, but above all, she loved the Lord Jesus, worshiped him in song, and sought to walk in his ways.

Beth Ann is survived by her husband of 42 years, Timothy; her children, Maia Swinson (Thomas Kerschbaum) and Eric Swinson; her parents Jeris and Joyce Eikenberry; and her brother David (Kathleen) Eikenberry.

She is preceded in death by her brother in infancy, Robbie.

A celebration of Beth's life will be held at 10:30 AM on Saturday, June 27th, 2026, at Northport Evangelical Covenant Church.

The family requests that, in lieu of flowers or memorial gifts, contributions would be directed to Northport Evangelical Covenant Church, 409 S. Shabwasung, Northport, MI, 49670.

Sunday is right around the corner and I am excited to come to Church for Pastor Tim’s first message as our new Pastor. Sadly, we won’t have Beth Ann with us this week, but Pastor Tim has a word for us from 1 Corinthians that I know will give us all "cause to pause," and reflect on our heart attitude toward Holy Scripture.
The roads are mostly clear, the weather is mostly settled, and the outlook is mostly bright so come enjoy the first Sunday of spring with your church family and be blessed.

Church is cancelled on Sunday March 15 due to hazardous weather -charge your phone, fill your generator if you have one. We are monitoring the church text messages if you get into trouble.

It looks like Northport is giving Pastor Tim a good northern Michigan welcome. As of right now, Church is still a go, but please stay tuned as weather conditions are evolving rapidly.

I will send a text Saturday night with an update, as well as post on Facebook, once we know what Sunday morning will look like.

If you are not currently receiving text from Northport Cov, please DM me and give me your cell number. I will add you to the text notify list.
