An email update I received from High School Camp Dean Luke Edlund: "Dear Bethany Bible Camp Parents,
First and foremost, we want you to know that everyone at Bethany Bible Camp is safe. We are incredibly grateful to report that no one was hurt during the severe storm that came through the area last night.
Unfortunately, the storm caused extensive damage to our campgrounds. Several cabins were hit, the cafeteria and chapel both sustained roof damage, the dock was torn away, and numerous large trees were brought down across the property. After assessing the full impact this morning, we’ve made the incredibly difficult decision to cancel this week’s camp.
While we are heartbroken, we believe this is the safest and wisest choice. The damage poses too many risks, and we want to ensure the grounds are fully secure before anyone returns. While we won’t be rescheduling this week of camp, we are praying and thinking about other ways to connect—whether through a one-day retreat later this summer or a reunion-style meetup when the time is right. For now, please know that this week’s camp is officially canceled.
In the coming days, we’ll be reaching out with information about refunds and ways you can pray for or support Bethany as we begin the cleanup and repair process.
We are trusting in God’s provision and timing, even in the face of such an unexpected challenge. Thank you for your understanding, your grace, and your continued prayers for our camp family.
