đź“– "Looking at his disciples, he said: "Blessed are you who are poor, for yours is the kingdom of God. Blessed are you who hunger now, for you will be satisfied. Blessed are you who weep now, for you will laugh. Blessed are you when people hate you, when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For that is how their ancestors treated the prophets. But woe to you who are rich, for you have already received your comfort. Woe to you who are well fed now, for you will go hungry.
Woe to you who laugh now, for you will mourn and weep. Woe to you when everyone speaks well of you, for that is how their ancestors treated the false prophets." Luke 6:20-26

đź“– "Do good to your servant according to your word, Lord. Teach me knowledge and good judgment, for I trust your commands. Before I was afflicted I went astray, but now I obey your word. You are good, and what you do is good; teach me your decrees." Psalm 119:65-68

📖 "After this, Jesus went out and saw a tax collector by the name of Levi sitting at his tax booth. “Follow me,” Jesus said to him, and Levi got up, left everything and followed him. Then Levi held a great banquet for Jesus at his house, and a large crowd of tax collectors and others were eating with them. But the Pharisees and the teachers of the law who belonged to their sect complained to his disciples, “Why do you eat and drink with tax collectors and sinners?” Jesus answered them, “It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”" Luke 5:27-32

📖 "I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name for ever and ever. Every day I will praise you and extol your name for ever and ever. Great is the Lord and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom. One generation commends your works to another; they tell of your mighty acts. They speak of the glorious splendor of your majesty— and I will meditate on your wonderful works. They tell of the power of your awesome works— and I will proclaim your great deeds. They celebrate your abundant goodness and joyfully sing of your righteousness." Psalm 145:1-7

Does evil’s darkness overwhelm you at times, driving you to despair and hopelessness? Do you wonder what good could come or how to be rescued from a dreadful future? At these times in life, Jesus’ Cross and Resurrection show us the way – through the Savior’s love.

John 18-21 shows us Jesus’ glory. Jesus our God and King came to save us from sin through the humiliation of the cross. We witness His almighty love eclipse the evil we dread. He defeats sin and death forever. Jesus Christ is our only hope – who He is, what He has done and what He will do.

In this 6-week study, John draws us into God’s story. Follow Jesus through His last hours of earthly ministry. Witness Him faithfully complete His work while caring for others. Walk with John through Jesus’ trials. Feel the guilt of Peter’s denials. Hear Jesus’ world-changing shout, “It is finished!”

Go with John and the faithful women gathered at the cross, through grief and into Jesus’ empty tomb. See them embrace their risen Savior only a few days later. Jesus’ Resurrection is the highlight of the gospel. It gives abundant evidence to convince all who are willing to believe and live by faith in Jesus.

John’s final chapter provides two snapshots to show how Jesus works in those who trust Him today. Has he called you to follow Him and “fish for people”? Jesus’ last words in John’s Gospel speak of His coming again. Will you worship the risen Lord and prepare for His return by feeding His sheep? What better way could you spend the next few weeks than in John's final chapters, following Jesus and experiencing His love?

📖 "When all the people were being baptized, Jesus was baptized too. And as he was praying, heaven was opened and the Holy Spirit descended on him in bodily form like a dove. And a voice came from heaven: “You are my Son, whom I love; with you I am well pleased.”" Luke 3:21-22
