I am an active member of ASA: http://network.asa3.org/ I recently received this message re student membership. If you have a STEM major, I highly recommend joining. Membership is free (see below). Of course other majors can join as well. Some of our members are in philosophy and history of science and faith. If you do join, please let me know. I am trying to establish a local chapter.
During the months of October and November, we invite you to join the American Scientific Affiliation (ASA) Fall Student Membership Drive!
The ASA publishes a peer-reviewed quarterly journal, Perspectives on Science and Christian Faith, an electronic journal, God and Nature, a membership newsletter and a website rich with resources.
Along with these benefits, there are great opportunities for networking at our summer annual meeting as well as local chapter events across the country.
A regular membership with the ASA is $85/year, but any student (high school, college or graduate) who joins the ASA in October and November will receive a basic student membership for FREE (receiving only electronic material). Or you can join as a premier student member for $20/year (receiving both printed and electronic material).
We invite your partnership in these efforts by promoting this offer to students in your spheres of influence. Our goal for the months of October and November is 200 new student members.
We hope you'll join us in the Fall Student Membership Drive and help us reach our goal!
Joyfully in Christ,
Vicki
