This coming Sunday, July 12, we celebrate Mary Kay's 10 years of music ministry at St. Peter's. Our worship service (9:00) features the liturgy she wrote and her children are singing. Following worship, we will have a reception (10:00) with cake (gluten-free also). We are blessed. Hope you can join us in thanking her for all she does for St. Peter's Lutheran.

Thanks to the generosity of our Mission Endowment Fund, all the windows in our “former” parsonage are getting replaced! Of course, we have an Endowment Fund because of the generosity of the saints of St. Peter’s!

It is time to gather for conversation and fellowship. Faith on Tap will meet this Thursday, July 9, at 7:00 at The Contented Cow. We just celebrated the semiquincentennial of the USA. As a country, we have accomplished much and we have much for which to be grateful. We have also failed and not lived up to our ideals. Lutheran Christians often speak of us simultaneous sinner and saint. Some of us may focus on our accomplishments at the expense of denying our failures, while others focus on our shortcomings and hesitate or refuse to acknowledge our achievements. Where do you fit? How can our Christian faith inform our national identity? Please read the pastoral reflection on the USA's 250 celebration by Presiding Bishop Curry.
