Am Yisrael Conservative Congregation Honoring Tradition. Creating New Ones. Welcome to Am Yisrael. Founded in 1968, Am Yisrael is dedicated to being the liberal voice of the Conservative movement.

We strive to be a congregation that includes all persons, embracing differences of marital status, family structure, sexual orientation, gender and its expression, age, mental and physical health and ability. Musical instruments are incorporated into our services in an effort to stir the soul, intensify emotions and revivify centuries-old prayer.

As many of you know, it’s been a 29 year journey for me in Jewish communal professional life. I’ve finally landed as Executive Director of Am Yisrael Conservative Congregation in Northfield IL. And had the opportunity to attend my first North American Association of Synagogue Executives conference this week in Dallas TX. Leaving with new tricks of the trade, new information to move our needle forward, and 100 new BFFs to help me along the way. !
