CHUSY

CHUSY is the Lower Great Lakes Region of United Synagogue Youth, USCJ's Youth Movement. CHUSY covers There are many chapters in CHUSY region.

CHUSY is the Lower Great Lakes Region of USY, USCJ's Youth Movement. CHUSY covers Chicago as well as Madison, Milwaukee, and Northwest Indiana. CHUSY programs give Jewish teens a chance to learn and grow as a Jew and most of all to have fun with other Jews. Teens learn about Judaism and Israel, do social action projects, give tzedakah, and enjoy other social programming like bowling or just hangin

g out. These chapters are based in certain synagogues and have frequent programming. Chapters often go to various places in Chicago, such as Navy Pier or Laser Quest. Many chapter programs take place at the synagogue. All chapter programs are lots of fun to attend. Check out the chapters section of CHUSY.org to find a chapter near you. Regional programs, when all the chapters get together, take place less often but are that much more fun. Every two to three months there are conventions, when people from all around Chicago spend Shabbat together. There are also other programs, including dances and Monday night basketball. Going to a regional program is a great way to meet people from all over Chicago as well as Wisconsin and Indiana.

CHUSY kicked off the year at the Cubs game with a big W over the Cardinals! After the game, we enjoyed a delicious dinner and heard inspiring stories from entrepreneur Jeff Aeder, from founding Milt’s BBQ for the Perplexed to supporting the Israel Baseball Team, rebuilding Kibbutz Kerem Shalom, and more.
We wrapped up the night with a beautiful Birkat led by CHUSY Rel/Ed Reese Lindon.
