Last night we held a farewell dinner for our very own Pastor Sam & Monica, Pastor Josh & Kaitlyn. Praise God for all that He’s done through them at our church and the ways that they’ve impacted our lives! May God continue to pour out His grace and mercy wherever He leads you. We will miss you dearly!

Leaders: Eugene & Jandi
LG: Beyond Sunday

We are Eugene and Jandi, the LG leaders of Beyond Sunday. After being active members for 10 years, we spent the last 4 years in Michigan as Jandi completed her medical training before returning back in 2024. We are so excited to have the opportunity to serve again at Lakeview as LG leaders!

What can life group members expect to learn/experience in attending your life group?

Our hope and prayer is that our LG members would experience God through Bible study, prayer, and fellowship in Christ as part of Beyond Sunday and that we would be transformed more and more into the image of God. We hope that together we would learn how to read, study, submit to, and apply Gods word in our lives.

To see us being transformed into His image and to see God adding to our number daily those who are being saved.

LG: GenC

Greetings! We are Dan and Rebecca Cha, Life Group leaders of the Koinonia group “Generation Christ” aka GenC. This will be our second season leading a life group. We are a multi-generational life group with a combination of newly married couples and young couples with children.

Our primary goal is to glorify God and His Kingdom through sharing our life experiences, worship, and the study of His Word.

What are you most excited about for this LG season?

We are excited to get to know our fellow younger members of Lakeview EC, and to be humble stewards of growing this group in Christ over the next two years!

Stephan and Marie Choe. We moved to the US from Germany 12 years ago. Our Lifegroup’s name is Limitless.

We will study the Bible, will have time of prayer and want to get to know and trust each other so that we can support each other in our walk of faith.

LG: ICHTHYS United

About us: We met 3 years ago when Eunice first started attending Lakeview and had a desire to join Women’s Ministry (WM). In order to catch up on several missed sessions of WM, we met for the first time over Zoom when Eunice was vacationing in Santorini, Greece (2 AM local time) to discuss the Holy Spirit in Ephesians 5:18-19 (“do not get drunk on wine, which leads to debauchery. Instead, be filled with the Spirit, speaking to one another with psalms, hymns, and songs from the Spirit”).

What can life group members expect to learn/experience in attending your life group?

Learn about God (duh!). But more seriously, we want to experience what it means to be the body of Christ by living out our faith in community.

What are you most excited about for this LG season?

To see the Holy Spirit changing lives. Can we get an “amen”?

We are Kevin and Susan Chen, and we lead WOW (Walking On Water), a Koinonia LifeGroup at Lakeview.

Our hope and prayer is that as we study God’s Word, fellowship, and keep each other in prayer, we will grow together deeper in faith, and be a comfort to one another.

What are you most excited about for this LG season?

It is exciting to begin on another journey of discovery, of collecting more gems of truths from the treasure field that is our Bible.

LG: Clay In His Hand

Our life group is “Clay In His Hand”, and we are James and Aimee Yang. We’ve been attending Lakeview since 2016 and have four sons who are now young adults. We currently live in Glenview.

What can life group members expect to learn/experience in attending your life group?

Our Life group’s goal is to become more and more the moldable clay in God’s hand as in the book of Isaiah, being transformed into Christ’s likeness. Our group has families with children in the Kidsland, youth group, college and young adulthood. We’ll try to share our lives through bible study, intercessory prayers for one another and having periodic food fellowship.

What are you most excited about for this LG season?

We look forward to going through the Lakeview statements of faith and learning the fundamental doctrines together with our life group and the whole church this season. We’re excited to see how we grow in faith together.

LG: PATH (Pursuing and Trusting Him)

My name is Bryan. I am a former missionary who now works as a librarian in Northbrook. I have been at Lakeview for about 2.5 years now, and I began attending within a few weeks of moving to Northbrook.

What can life group members expect to learn/experience in attending your life group?

This life group can expect to focus on breadth, and covering a fair bit of the Bible, in order to understand the flow of the books, as well as the context in which they were written.

What are you most excited about for this LG season?

I am most excited to get to know my new life group, be able to grow together, and to hear the insights that they will have from different backgrounds and experiences.

LG: Joined by Grace

Jisu and Linda Kim - we’ve been attending Lakeview since 2000. Married longer and have 2 wonderful children (Ben and Natalie) and a frisky dog (Fletcher). God has been faithful to us and we live for His glory, knowing that even that privilege only comes by His grace and mercy.

What can life group members expect to learn/experience in attending your life group?

We would like to foster a relaxing environment where we can learn and share together. We will do our best to ensure that the information we bring will be based on the Word and we hope that by the end of 2 years, we will all have grown as a community that truly is joined by His grace.

Leaders: Tom & Sarah
LG: The Forge

Hello, we are Thomas and Sarah Pae. We have the honor of serving as life group leaders for the 2025-2026 season. We have 4 children, Ellie, Becca, John and Eunice. We love the Lord and love to help share the Gospel message through medical missions. Our life group name is The Forge- please see the movie. But it is our hope that the Lord will forge us through the Refiner’s Fire to become pure and blameless before Him through this season of discipleship and fellowship.

What can life group members expect to learn/experience in attending your life group?

We hope to learn foundational Biblical truths by studying the Word of God and seek its application in each of our lives. We hope to share and encourage the growth of each member’s faith journey in the two years to come as we become more transformed into the likeness of our Lord, Jesus Christ. Our members will experience God’s faithfulness to answered prayer; as we will be a praying life group.

We are most excited to see how God will sanctify each member in the next two years to come through the studying of His Word and lifting up of earnest prayers.
