Today we celebrate the Feast of Corpus Christi, formally known as the Solemnity of the Most Holy Body and Blood of Christ. On this day we celebrate the real presence of Jesus Christ in the Eucharist.

In many parishes, Mass today will be followed by a procession of the Blessed Sacrament and then the Benediction of the Blessed Sacrament.

Today is Divine Mercy Sunday, a celebration of Christ's mercy, which was one of the gifts of Easter.

Pope John Paul II formally dedicated the second Sunday of Easter as a devotion to the Divine Mercy in the year 2000. The devotion as we know it today is based on the revelations of St. Faustina Kowalska, a Polish nun who was canonized at the same time that Divine Mercy Sunday was established.
