We are excited to announce that Shared Abundance Gardens registration is now open! Shared Abundance Gardens is a local initiative and food justice program run by Abundance Farm that brings together Connecticut River Valley gardeners.

Participating households receive a full garden kit with the supplies needed for a successful home garden, available at a sliding scale. Don’t have space to garden? The network includes those willing to share their space with other Gardeners. In the spirit of abundance, Gardeners commit to sharing their harvest, time, knowledge, or gardening materials beyond their households.

This kit is perfect for first-time gardeners unsure of what to plant, as well as experienced gardeners who can luxuriate in a kit being carefully curated for them.

We did all the planning, so you can do all the planting!

Register before May 8 by visiting www.abundancefarm.org/shared-abundance-gardens! 🌱

CBI is pleased to announce that we have hired Rabbi Louis Polisson to serve as CBI's next Senior Rabbi. Rabbi Polisson is thrilled to accept this position. In his own words: "I'm deeply honored to be stepping into this role in a progressive Jewish community that strives to embody our shared core values: Torah (Jewish learning), Avodah (prayer and spirituality) Ḥesed (loving kindness), and Tzedek (justice). I'm very much looking forward to working with the wonderful clergy, staff, and lay leadership teams. I'm eager to get to know each and every one of CBI's members, to learn how I can best serve you, and to work together to build a bright future for CBI. I look forward to seeing many of you again and meeting some of you for the first time in July!"

He will start at CBI on July 8, and we look forward to preparing together a wonderful welcome for him and his family.

We had a great time celebrating Tu Bishvat (New Year for the Trees) with a campus tree walk and pancake breakfast! Thanks to all the volunteers who made it possible, and thanks to everyone who came out and braved the cold with us. 🌲❄🌳

Thanks to everyone who showed up for this year's Legislative Luncheon to hear from our reps on protecting immigrants, climate action, health care access, reparations, housing, and food insecurity. It was so meaningful to have this time to share the CBI Tikkun Olam legislative priorities, given what is happening in our country.

In Rabbi Jacob Fine's opening remarks, he linked the horrific situation in Minneapolis to this Shabbat's Torah portion, Exodus. Speaking to the need to act, he shared: "Liberation does not require that we all be heroes, but it does require that we all move... Each act we take grounded in love, justice, and compassion has the power to move the world forward and lead to our collective liberation."

Special thanks Senator Jo Comerford Lindsay Sabadosa, State Representative, 1st Hampshire District Homar Gomez Mindy Domb, State Representative Aaron Saunders
