We had the December Birthday party today. It was a week late because of problems getting the cake last week. But, as always, it’s a blessing to share the love of Jesus with men who really appreciate it. God is really, really good!

WOW! WHAT A GLORIUS DAY! We started with our Ministry Board members giving their time and energy to load Christmas sacks for the inmates. From 2:00 to 6:00, we were distributing the loaded bags. Meanwhile, Grace It Up Prison Ministry brought Chic-Fil-A for every inmate and employee. At 7:00, a packed chapel was blessed with a wonderful time of music, testimonies and messages from our Grace It Up brothers. We pray that God be glorified and that the men at the prison could please God with their dedication to Him. I know He is pleased with today. It’s a wonderful life indeed.
Thank you to every person who prays for our ministry and to every person, church and group that makes our ministry possible.

As the Advent season approaches Wilkes Prison Ministry is preparing to share Christ’s love with those who will be spending Christmas at Wilkes Correctional Center. Each year, we prepare Christmas sacks containing a few necessities and goodies for each of the inmates. The prison must approve every item donated and every man receives the same gifts.
Along with Grace It Up Prison ministry, we provide a Christmas meal, from a local restaurant, then Wilkes Prison Ministry presents the bags personally to each inmate. For many, this is the only Christmas gifts they receive. The day ends with a meaningful Christmas service.
The Christmas sacks wouldn’t be possible without the donations made by churches and individuals who share the need to show Christ’s love to those who are often forgotten.
As you know, prices continue to rise so every monetary gift, either large or small, will be appreciated.
You may never meet these men that you will be helping or see the looks on their faces when they receive these gifts; but, the Lord does see and will surely honor your love and generosity.

This weeks spotlight is the Wilkes Prison Ministry!
This Christian organization reaches out to the men incarcerated at the Wilkes Minimum Security Correctional Facility by offering them hope, support, and taking them to church. The Wilkes Correctional Center is the only state prison in the Wilkes, Surry, Alleghany, and Watauga counties. Founded here in our home, the Wilkes Prison Ministry aims to share the word of God and help offenders to repent and become born again. Over the past 8.5 years, they have touched the souls of and baptized over 200 men. The work that they do progresses towards improving the incarceration rates and rates of re-offense in our county. Wilkes Prison Ministry understands that no one is ever completely lost, and it makes it a lot easier to navigate tough times with a helping hand and open arms.
