Message and Ministry of Jesus, The King:

{Jesus Instructs the Twelve Disciples for Service}

And when “Jesus”

had called unto him

his twelve disciples,

he gave them

power

against

unclean spirits,

to cast them out,

and to heal

all manner of sickness

and all

manner of disease.

Now the names of

the twelve apostles

are these;

The first, Simon,

who is called Peter,

and Andrew

his brother;

James

the son of Zebedee,

and John

his brother;

Philip,

and Bartholomew;

Thomas,

and Matthew

the publican;

James

the son of Alphaeus,

and Lebbaeus,

whose surname

was Thaddaeus;

Simon the Canaanite,

and Judas Iscariot,

who also betrayed him.

These twelve

Jesus sent forth,

and commanded them,

saying,

Go not

into the way

of the Gentiles,

and into

any city

of the Samaritans

enter ye not:

But go rather

to the lost sheep

of the house

of Israel.

And as ye go,

preach,

saying,

The kingdom of heaven

is at hand.

Heal the sick,

cleanse the lepers,

raise the dead,

cast out devils:

freely

ye have received,

freely give.

Provide neither gold,

nor silver,

nor brass

in your purses,

Nor scrip

for your journey,

neither two coats,

neither shoes,

nor yet staves:

for the workman

is worthy

of his meat.

And into

whatsoever

city or town

ye shall enter,

enquire who in it

is worthy;

and there abide

till ye go thence.

And when ye

come

into an house,

salute it.

And if the house

be worthy,

let your peace

come upon it:

but if it

be not worthy,

let your peace

return to you.

And whosoever

shall not

receive you,

nor hear your words,

when ye depart

out of

that house

or city,

shake off the dust

of your feet.

Verily I say unto you,

It shall be

more tolerable

for the land of

S***m

and Gomorrha

in the day

of judgment,

than for that city.

Message and Ministry of Jesus, The King:

{Miracles of Healing}

While “Jesus”

spake these things

unto them,

behold,

there came

a certain ruler,

and worshipped him,

saying,

My daughter

is even now

dead:

but come

and

lay thy hand

upon her,

and she shall live.

And Jesus arose,

and followed him,

and so did

his disciples.

And, behold,

a woman,

which was

diseased

with an

issue of blood

twelve years,

came behind him,

and touched

the hem

of his garment:

For she said

within herself,

If I may but touch

his garment,

I shall be whole.

But Jesus

turned him about,

and when he

saw her,

he said,

Daughter,

be of good comfort;

thy faith hath

made thee whole.

And the woman

was made whole

from that hour.

And when Jesus

came into

the ruler's house,

and saw

the minstrels

and the people

making a noise,

He said unto them,

Give place:

for the maid

is not dead,

but sleepeth.

And they

laughed him

to scorn.

But when

the people

were put forth,

he went in,

and took her

by the hand,

and the maid arose.

And the fame

hereof

went abroad

into all that land.

And when Jesus

departed thence,

two blind men

followed him,

crying,

and saying,

Thou Son of David,

have mercy on us.

And when

he was come

into the house,

the blind men

came to him:

and Jesus saith

unto them,

Believe ye

that I am able

to do this?

They said unto him,

Yea, Lord.

Then touched he

their eyes,

saying,

According to your faith

be it unto you.

And their eyes

were opened;

and Jesus straitly

charged them,

saying,

See that

no man

know it.

But they,

when they were

departed,

spread abroad

his fame

in all that country.

As they went out,

behold,

they brought to him

a dumb man

possessed with

a devil.

And when the devil

was cast out,

the dumb spake:

and the multitudes

marvelled,

saying,

It was never

so seen

in Israel.

But the Pharisees

said,

He casteth out

devils

through the

prince of the devils.

And Jesus went about

all the cities

and villages,

teaching

in their synagogues,

and preaching

the gospel

of the kingdom,

and healing

every sickness

and every disease

among the people.

But when he

saw the multitudes,

he was moved

with compassion

on them,

because

they fainted,

and were

scattered abroad,

as sheep

having no shepherd.

Then saith he

unto his disciples,

The harvest

truly is plenteous,

but the labourers

are few;

Pray ye therefore

the Lord

of the harvest,

that he will

send forth labourers

into his harvest.

Message and Ministry of Jesus, The King:

(The Question about Fasting)

Then came to “Jesus”

the disciples of John,

saying,

Why do we

and the Pharisees

fast oft,

but thy disciples

fast not?

And Jesus

said unto them,

Can the children

of the bridechamber

mourn,

as long as

the bridegroom

is with them?

but the days will come,

when the bridegroom

shall be taken

from them,

and then

shall they fast.

No man

putteth

a piece

of new cloth

unto

an old garment,

for that

which is put in

to fill it up

taketh

from the garment,

and the rent is

made worse.

Neither do men

put new wine

into old bottles:

else the bottles break,

and the wine

runneth out,

and the bottles

perish:

but they put

new wine

into

new bottles,

and both

are preserved.

he saw a man,

named Matthew,

sitting at

the receipt of custom:

and he saith

unto him,

Follow me.

And he arose,

and followed him.

And it came to pass,

as Jesus

many publicans

And when the Pharisees

Why eateth your Master

But when Jesus

heard that,

he said unto them,

They that be whole

that are sick.

But go ye

I will have mercy,

and not sacrifice:

for I am not come

to repentance.

Message and Ministry of Jesus, The King:

{Jesus heals a paralyzed man}

And “Jesus” entered

into a ship,

and passed over,

and came into

his own city.

And, behold,

they brought to him

a man

sick of the palsy,

lying on a bed:

and Jesus

seeing their faith

said unto

the sick of the palsy;

Son,

be of good cheer;

thy sins

be forgiven thee.

And, behold,

certain of the scribes

said within themselves,

This man blasphemeth.

And Jesus

knowing their thoughts

said,

Wherefore

think ye evil

in your hearts?

For whether is easier,

to say,

Thy sins be forgiven thee;

or to say,

Arise, and walk?

But that ye may know

that the Son of man

hath power on earth

to forgive sins,

(then saith he

to

the sick of the palsy,)

Arise,

take up thy bed,

and go unto thine house.

And he arose,

and departed

to his house.

But when the multitudes

saw it,

they marvelled,

and glorified God,

which had given

such power

unto men.

Message and Ministry of Jesus, The King:

{Jesus sends demons into a herd of pigs}

And when

“Jesus”

was come to

the other side

into the country

of the Gergesenes,

there met him

two possessed

with devils,

coming out

of the tombs,

exceeding fierce,

so that no man

might pass

by that way.

And, behold,

they cried out,

saying,

What have we

to do with thee,

Jesus,

thou Son of God?

art thou

come hither

to torment us

before the time?

And there was

a good way

off from them

an herd of

many swine

feeding.

So the devils

besought him,

saying,

If thou

cast us out,

suffer us

to go away

into the

herd of swine.

And he said unto them,

Go.

And when they

were come out,

they went

into the

herd of swine:

and, behold,

the whole

herd of swine

ran violently

down a steep place

into the sea,

and perished

in the waters.

And they

that kept them

fled,

and went their ways

into the city,

and told every thing,

and what was

befallen

to the possessed

of the devils.

And, behold,

the whole city

came out

to meet Jesus:

and when they

saw him,

they besought him

that he would

depart

out of their coasts.

Crucified, Buried, Resurrected; The Risen Christ:

In the end of the sabbath,

as it began to dawn

toward

the first day

of the week,

came Mary Magdalene

and the other Mary

to see the sepulchre.

And, behold,

there was a

great earthquake:

for the angel

of the Lord

descended from heaven,

and came

and rolled back

the stone

from the door,

and sat upon it.

His countenance

was like lightning,

and his raiment

white as snow:

And for fear of him

the keepers did shake,

and became

as dead men.

And the angel answered

and said

unto the women,

Fear not ye:

for I know

that ye seek Jesus,

which was crucified.

He is not here:

for he is risen,

as he said.

Come,

see the place

where the Lord lay.

And go quickly,

and tell his disciples

that he is risen

from the dead;

and, behold,

he goeth before you

into Galilee;

there shall ye

see him:

lo,

I have told you.

And they departed quickly

from the sepulchre

with fear

and great joy;

and did run

to bring

his disciples word.

And as they went

to tell his disciples,

behold,

Jesus met them,

saying,

All hail.

And they came

and held him

by the feet,

and worshipped him.

Then said Jesus

unto them,

Be not afraid:

go tell my brethren

that they go

into Galilee,

and there

shall they see me.

Now when

they were going,

behold,

some of the watch

came into the city,

and shewed unto

the chief priests

all the things

that were done.

And when they

were assembled

with the elders,

and had taken counsel,

they gave large money

unto the soldiers,

Saying,

Say ye,

His disciples

came by night,

and stole him away

while we slept.

And if this

come to

the governor's ears,

we will

persuade him,

and secure you.

So they took the money,

and did

as they were taught:

and this saying

is commonly reported

among the Jews

until this day.

Then the eleven disciples

went away

into Galilee,

into a mountain

where Jesus

had appointed them.

And when they saw him,

they worshipped him:

but some doubted.

And Jesus came

and spake unto them,

saying,

All power

is given unto me

in heaven

and in earth.

Go ye therefore,

and teach all nations,

baptizing them

in the name of the Father,

and of the Son,

and of the Holy Ghost:

Teaching them

to observe all things

whatsoever

I have commanded you:

and, lo,

I am with you always,

even unto

the end of the world.

Amen.

And he led them out

as far

as to Bethany,

and he lifted up his hands,

and blessed them.

And it came to pass,

while he blessed them,

he was parted from them,

and carried

up into heaven.

And they worshipped him,

and returned to Jerusalem

with great joy:

And were continually

in the temple,

praising

and blessing God.

Amen.

And,

there arose

a great tempest

in the sea,

insomuch

that the ship

And his disciples

Lord,

And he saith

Why are ye fearful,

Then he arose,

and rebuked

the winds

and there was

But the men

marveled,

saying,

What manner

that even

{Jesus teaches about the cost of following him}

Now when Jesus

about him,

he gave commandment

to depart

And a certain scribe

came,

and said unto him,

Master,

I will follow thee

And Jesus
