Maxine P. Roak Obituary
Bridgton – Maxine P. Roak, 91, of North Waterford passed away peacefully on Monday, March 11, 2024 at the Woodlands Memory Care of Bridgton. She was born in West Paris on April 21, 1932 the daughter of Floreston and Wilma Kimball Pierce and graduated from West Paris High School.
Maxine married Hugh Roak in 1950 and held various jobs including the shoe shop in Norway, Fred Stearns orchard as an apple picker, Trap Corner store and most notably owner and operator of a gas station in Waterford with her husband Hugh.
Maxine was a direct Mayflower descendent. She was a past member of the North Waterford Grange, as well as National and State Grange, She belonged to the North Waterford Congregational Church and Ladies Circle. She was a past member of the P. T. A. serving as president at one time. She was an assistant leader of the Lucky Leaf 4-H club when her children were active. and was also a member of the Order of the Eastern Star. Maxine enjoyed traveling and winning at card games with her sisters Nina and Alice. She enjoyed watching Boston sports teams, especially the Red Sox. For many years attended Spring Training games in Fort Myers with her daughter and son-in-law and her sister Alice. She loved her family, and was an exceptional wife and mother. Her favorite past times were dancing and playing cards on Tuesday afternoons with dear friends.
She is survived by her daughter Kathryn Pulsifer (Lloyd) of Oxford; her sons Darrell (Mary) of Casco and Gary (Lyn) of Auburn, her daughter Cheryl Hamilton of South Paris; 12 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her brothers Elwin, Myron, Maurice (Bud), Floreston, Jr, Franklin and sisters Alice Keddy, Nina Hayes, Geraldine DeShon and Lucille.
Family and friends may attend visitation on Friday, April 5, 2024 from 7 to 9 p.m. at Oxford Hills Funeral Services, 1037 Main St., Oxford. Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, April 6, 2024 at 1 p.m. at the First Congregational Church, 17 E. Main St., South Paris. Interment will be later in the spring at Woodlawn Cemetery in North Waterford. In lieu of flowers donations in her memory may be made to Androscoggin Home Care and Hospice, 15 Strawberry Avenue, Lewiston, ME 04240 or Woodlands Memory Care, 200 N. High St., Bridgton, ME 04009. Dear Members and Friends

Supper dates are June 27, July 11 & 25, August 8 & 22, and September 5.

We will need people willing to make either casseroles or salads. (We will have our usual menu of baked beans, coleslaw, chop suey, brown bread and rolls.) Desserts will be gingerbread for June 27th and strawberry shortcake for July 11, 25 & August 8. We will serve homemade pies August 22 & September 5. We would appreciate anyone who could help with the homemade pies. We also can use any help you can give on supper days.

We can make arrangements to have donations picked up or they can be dropped off all day on the supper days.

We will be holding our price to $12.
