A kind reminder: Cemetery Clean-Off begins today...

At Acacia Park Cemetery, we understand that every flower, wreath, and keepsake placed at a loved one’s resting place carries a deep meaning.

To help us care for the grounds with the same respect and dignity your loved ones deserve, we conduct seasonal clean-offs. Below are answers to some recently fielded common questions since our last posting of clean off dates: (Easter items will not be removed, however, it is always best to contact the office.)

🌿 What is a cemetery clean-off?
A scheduled time when items such as flowers, decorations and seasonal items are gently removed to prepare the grounds for seasonal maintenance.

🌿 Why are clean-offs necessary?
They allow us to safely prepare for each transition while mowing, trimming, and maintaining a beautiful, peaceful environment for all families.

🌿 When do clean-offs take place?
Typically in early spring and late fall. Dates are shared in advance.

🌿 Will I be notified?
Notifications have been posted, in advance, throughout the cemetery grounds and online (social media), and through our communication channels (newsletters).

🌿 What items are removed?
Flowers, wreaths, pots, holiday decorations, and other loose items.

🌿 Can I pick up items beforehand?
Absolutely. We encourage families to retrieve any meaningful items prior to the clean-off date. (Many of you have done so already...our staff greatly appreciates your cooperation during this process.)

🌿 What happens to removed items?
Items are respectfully disposed of by our staff. We recommend not leaving valuables.

🌿 Can I place new flowers after?
Yes, families are always welcome to place new seasonal arrangements once the clean-off is complete. We understand that Easter coincides with our scheduled clean-off period this year. Please contact the office if you plan to place flowers during this time.

🌿 Who can I contact with questions?
Our team is here to help, please reach out to the Acacia Park office anytime. (716-692-0511)

As we prepare for the upcoming season, we kindly ask that all personal floral decorations and seasonal items be removed from gravesites before April 1st. This helps our team maintain the beauty and dignity of the cemetery for all families; any items left will be removed between April 1st through April 15th.

We appreciate your cooperation and understanding.

“A Symbol of Strength at Acacia Park Cemetery”

Seeing a bald eagle one week after Veterans Day feels especially powerful, and witnessing it this morning made the moment even more meaningful. The eagle has long stood as a symbol of American strength, courage and freedom; the very ideals our veterans have protected and upheld. Its presence in this moment serves as a quiet reminder of sacrifice, resilience and unwavering spirit of those who have served. In a week dedicated to honoring them, the sight of our national emblem carries a deeper significance, almost, as if nature itself is paying tribute.

As part of our Annual Fall Clean-Off, we kindly ask that all personal items, decorations, and arrangements be removed from the cemetery grounds before November 1st.
We understand that these items hold deep sentimental value, and we truly appreciate your understanding and cooperation as we work to preserve a peaceful and well-tended resting place for all.
Respectfully,
Craig S. Schwalm
President
