We are especially excited to share this opportunity with our Northminster Early Childhood Center families because the program is led by 𝘁𝘄𝗼 𝗼𝗳 𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗼𝘄𝗻 𝘁𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗠𝘀. 𝗕𝗲𝘁𝗵 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗠𝘀. 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗶𝗻𝗲!

Kids Connection provides children with a safe, engaging environment to explore Bible stories, build friendships, participate in hands on learning, and deepen their understanding of biblical teachings.

Northminster Presbyterian Church is an 𝗼𝗽𝗲𝗻, 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗶𝗻𝗴, 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗹𝗼𝘃𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗺𝘂𝗻𝗶𝘁𝘆 where everyone is invited to come as they are. Whether your family already has a church home, is looking for one, or has never attended church before, 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝘄𝗲𝗹𝗰𝗼𝗺𝗲 𝗵𝗲𝗿𝗲.

Families and community members are invited to join Northminster Presbyterian Church for Sunday worship. There is no expectation that you already be connected to the church. Come visit, meet the congregation, and experience a community centered on love, acceptance, connection, and belonging.

Remembering and Celebrating the Life of the Rev. Stuart Hayes.

Following our earlier announcement of the death of the Rev. Stuart Dale Hayes Jr., we now share arrangements for gathering to remember and celebrate his life and ministry.

Stuart died suddenly and unexpectedly on the morning of August 25, 2026, at the age of 74. He was walking his beloved border collie, Maddie, and was just days away from his 75th birthday.

Stuart served faithfully in the ministry of the Presbyterian Church for more than four decades. He began his pastoral ministry at New Hartford Presbyterian Church, followed by service at First United Presbyterian Church in Fulton and Irondequoit Presbyterian Church in Rochester. In 1994, he began a 23-year ministry as pastor of First Presbyterian Church of Baldwinsville, retiring in 2017.

Retirement, however, did not mean the end of Stuart’s ministry. He continued to serve churches throughout the Syracuse area as an interim pastor, most notably at Pebble Hill Presbyterian Church, where he formed deep and lasting connections with the congregation and wider community.

Beyond the pulpit, Stuart was a gifted musician, avid cyclist, lover of history and baseball, and devoted father and grandfather. He brought curiosity, humor, knowledge, and a deep love for people into every community he served. His family remembers, among so many things, his music, his stories, his long walks, and his unfailing habit of telling his children, “Love you with my whole heart.”

He is survived by his children, Jordan Hayes of Baldwinsville, Rachel (Rodrigo) Arcuri of East Rochester, and Elizabeth (Alex Lanchantin) Hayes of Albany; their mother, Jill Hayes (Gallagher) of Baldwinsville; granddaughter, Alessandria Arcuri; partner, Margo Sampson of Syracuse; and his loyal and loving dog, Maddie.

In lieu of flowers, the family invites donations to the Onondaga Cycling Club.

In a fitting tribute to Stuart, they also suggest honoring his memory by enjoying a beautiful, sunny, blue-sky day walking or biking—preferably along the Erie Canal.

As a Presbytery, we give thanks for Stuart’s life, his ministry, and the many ways he shared God’s love with the people entrusted to his care. We hold his family, friends, former congregations, and all who mourn his death in our prayers.

Let us pray.

Gracious and loving God, you are our refuge and our strength, a very present help in times of trouble. We give you thanks for the life of your servant Stuart, for his faithful ministry among us, for the gifts you gave him, and for the love he shared so generously with family, friends, congregations, and community.

In the midst of our grief, remind us of your promise that neither death nor life can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. Comfort those who mourn. Give strength to Stuart’s family and to all who will feel his absence in the days ahead. Surround them with the care of your Spirit and the embrace of the community of faith.

We give thanks for the years Stuart was given, for the lives he touched, and for the work of ministry he leaves as part of our shared life. May we remember him not only with sorrow, but with gratitude, laughter, music, stories, and the hope of the resurrection.

Into your loving hands, O God, we commend your servant Stuart. Receive him into the fullness of your peace, and grant to all who mourn the assurance of your unfailing presence.
