⛪ Here at FCC, we’re the church for folks with wild and wonderful brains! Neurodivergent? Lovely. ♾️ Autistic? Delightful. 😅 Anxious? You’re in good company.

➡️ If you’re visiting for the first time, we want you to know that:

❤️ We have an all-gender bathroom just down the hall from the sanctuary and it’s wheelchair accessible!

🧡 There’s an elevator that will take you from outside in the parking lot up to the sanctuary level, or all the way down to the fellowship hall in the basement. There’s plenty of parking near the elevator entrance in our large parking lot.

💛 During the “Passing of the Peace” we all stay in our pews and make peace signs ✌🏻 with our hands — there’s no hugging or handshaking or conversation that you need to stress about!

💚 We live-stream our service online on our page, so you can check out a full service to get the lay of the land before you ever arrive in person 😊

💙 We have Sunday School the same time as worship, so if you have kiddos they’re more than welcome to join in one of the classrooms. Our curriculum is practical and progressive, with a focus on living out God’s extravagant love for all, not memorizing Bible verses. If your young ones would prefer to stay in the sanctuary with you, that’s totally cool with us! We typically have activity books in one of the front pews so your dear ones can color or doodle during the service!

As always, this is a FREE event open to the whole community — we’re an intentionally neurodivergent- and autism-friendly space where all kiddos aged 12 and under are welcome. ♾️ Share this with someone in your circle who needs to experience the Halloween fun with an inclusive community!

📣 Today is World Day Against the Death Penalty. The main objective of this day is to raise public awareness that the death penalty affects human beings and entire communities whose voices should be heard.

The global movement to abolish the death penalty continues to gain ground: 144 Nations are abolitionist in law or in practice. Yet 2025 saw a dramatic 78% increase in ex*****ons, reaching 2,707 recorded cases. In several countries, people continue to be sentenced to death and executed, often with little regard for the profound and lasting harm inflicted on those on death row, their families, victims’ families, lawyers, judges, and prison staff.

Here in the United States, Pete Hegseth (the US Secretary of War) has called for live-streaming a public ex*****on. We, as Christians, know that every human is made by God and worthy of respect and love. Not just the innocent. Not just the folks we like. Not just the folks who are easy to love. Every single being, no matter what they’ve done, is created in the image of God. In this moment, the US government is trying to turn cruelty into a virtue, and we will not stay silent!

🚨 Register now for the Safe Storage: Safe Homes conference on Thursday October 15th from 9am to noon! This is a first of it’s kind gathering to keep folks in Lorain County safe from gun violence in the home; folks in attendance will be a mix of gun owners, fi***rm retailers, veterans, and first responders. This event will focus on fi***rm storage and mental health, and is sponsored by Ohio’s Voice for Su***de Prevention, LifeSide Ohio, Lorain County Su***de Prevention Coalition, and the Mental Health, Addiction & Recovery Services Board of Lorain County.

Roughly half of su***de deaths in Ohio involve a fi***rm, and this conference is the first time that experts in the field will come together to discuss the intersection of fi***rm safety and mental health. Let’s all do our part to keep our neighbors healthy, hale, and whole, starting with safely locking up fi***rms in the house!

💰 This Sunday is the last day to support the Neighbors in Need yearly offering. Our congregation collects funds each year to support the important, tangible work for justice in our world. 🙏🏻 Part of the funds raised go to support Indigenous congregations while other funds are distributed as grants to enable ministry work across the country.
