Next week September 6th we return to our 9 am traditonal and 11 am blended worship schedule.

Thank you to all our Fields Family and Friends for embracing our plastic bottle cap collection. The last Sunday in August will be the final day to bring in your caps! A celebration of life for Bill Ward, born June 2, 1966 and went into eternal peace June 30, 2026.

Pastor Sondra Snode and Pastor Brian Humphreys share in the service process.

Special music will be provided by cousin Lauren Alvarez. including ‘The Prayer' and ‘I Won’t Let Go'.

Memorial readings, sharing and witness by family and friends.

Scripture readings are from:
Psalm 121: 1-8
John 14: 1-6.

The service will be followed by a luncheon in the church fellowship hall.

This is the experience of camp. It makes a difference for all who choose it’s life giving week!

Contagious

“Jessie, one of our campers, came to camp with Cerebral Palsy,” Sean, his counselor recalled. “In addition, campers in this senior high group had significant trauma in their lives. My co-counselor, Abby, and I thought that this week was going to be much different than normal. Even so, we were excited for the camp week to begin. Our goal was for all the campers in the group to have a good week.”

“At the beginning of the week Jessie was very shy. He was aware of his disability and concerned about how it might hinder the group. We went the extra mile to ensure he didn’t feel like he was weighing the group down. Originally, we thought we would carefully choose which activities the group selected, but Jessie immediately told the group, ‘I want to try everything. I will keep up. I won’t be left behind!’”

“Jessie’s enthusiasm and willingness to try anything and everything at camp was contagious,” Sean continued. “Many campers in the group gained courage to try new things. The hike at Dundee Falls was one of the challenging activities the group planned. Out of their comfort zones, the campers were on equal footing, relying on each other. The level of communication among the campers grew. Then in Bible study Jessie told the group, ‘I can’t read or write very well, but I can listen.’ From that time on,” Sean remembered, “the group went even deeper in sharing and listening.”

“By the end of the week the group had bonded deeply, to the point of sharing the hurts and triumphs in their lives. When the final day of camp came, they were sad and made plans to be in touch after camp. Even after camp closing, the campers lingered, hoping to make the camp family last a little longer.”
