My apologies for this last minute post. I meant to post a reminder about tonight's service and got completely distracted. If you see this and can make it to church by 6:00, we are having a Good Friday service. We are doing our traditional Service of Shadows with reading scripture and extinguishing candles, but we are incorporating something new with a dramatic reading. It'll be very moving. Please join us!

We invite you to join us tonight for an Agape Meal and service. We will meet in the Fellowship Hall at 6:00 pm. Items to bring and share typically consist of meats, cheese, fruit, and fresh veggies. Crackers will be provided by the Worship Committee and Communion will be served.

What is an Agape Meal?
Agape is the Greek word to describe the deepest kind of spiritual love. An Agape Meal is a “Love Feast” that encourages harmony, community, and goodwill. The practice originated in gatherings of early Christians and was often followed by the Lord’s Supper.

Customarily, an Agape feast would include all of us around tables participating in singing hymns of faith, confessing our sins, foot washing, hearing the word of God and offering prayers. The most important direction is to be aware of the Holy Spirit’s presence that connects us all to each other and to our Father in heaven, giving thanks for this special meal and the time to enjoy it.

Tonight’s meal has even more significance because it is Maundy Thursday, or Holy Thursday, the day we remember Jesus’ last supper with the apostles. It’s the night when they gathered in the upper room, shared the bread of life and cup of salvation, and Christ foretold of his betrayal before they headed to the garden of Gethsemane.

Don't forget to set your clocks forward tonight!
