The UUA exists to support congregations, which are the heart of our Unitarian Universalist tradition. Staff at the UUA develop a range of programs and resources to support our congregational leaders, from justice trainings, to curricula, to guidance on media and communications. For the past 10 years, the UU Institute has been an essential way to deliver lay leadership trainings in an efficient, low-cost, online format.

The UU Institute was originally developed by Congregational Life staff member Renée Ruchotzke in response to lay leaders’ expressed desire to be partners in ministry in our congregations. Today, the UU Institute has grown to have more than 10,000 users. Current UU Institute Director, Lillian Drab-Braddick says UU Institute programs also support Congregational Life staff in having deeper conversations with lay leaders about the support they need to help congregations thrive.

Please join us online at The Gathering on Monday, September 14 at 8pm ET! We're continuing our Declarations of Democracy series. As this country marks 250 years, we will examine the limits and possibilities of American democracy and our sacred call to shape a multiracial, interdependent democracy where everyone can thrive.

This month we'll focus on a panel discussion on Solidarity with special guests Aisha Hauser (Church of the Larger Fellowship) and Rev. Jason Lydon (First Parish in Brookline). Rev. Sara Green will root us in song and prayer.

Like those who came before us, we must hold fast to the belief that another world is possible and that our collective action can create it. Join us this month to root ourselves in love and rise together for justice.
