This is Margus Southern Baptist Church, Glan Sarangani.
A product of our prayers to plant one church a year - way back 1999-2006, when I was still the Lead Pastor of the First Southern Baptist Church (then, Mlang Baptist Church). It’s just one among several churches planted.
Now, 20 years, in just a 7.8 intensity earthquake last June 8, 2026, totally collapsed and severely damaged.
Praise God for this Tribal Church (mostly Blaan brethren) with more than 40 families, firm and determined to move on and bounce back with faith in serving the Lord and expanding His territory.
Most of them are temporarily settled on high lands away from the seashore for safety.
At the moment , Glan and other nearby towns are unpassable due to land slide, humanitarian works continues through boats and motorized pump boats to transfer all basic necessities.

A LIVING HOPE! Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ. Because of His great mercy He has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead [1 Peter 1:3 (CSB)]. Because He lives, we can face tomorrow. JUST BECAUSE HE LIVES, LIFE IS WORTH THE LIVING!
