We love to give God our sacrifice. Our time, our money, our service. But God has always cared more about one thing: obedience.

In 1 Samuel 15, God gave King Saul clear instructions: destroy the Amalekites completely, nothing spared. But Saul disobeyed. He kept the best of the sheep and oxen, along with King Agag, and when confronted, he justified it by saying he saved them to sacrifice to God.

Samuel's response cuts straight to the heart of the matter:
"Does the Lord delight in burnt offerings and sacrifices as much as in obedience to His voice? Behold, obedience is better than sacrifice, and attentiveness is better than the fat of rams." 1 Samuel 15:22

Saul didn't lack religion. He lacked surrender. And that's a trap so many of us fall into. We can perform for God, look the part, do the right religious things, and still be disobedient to what He's actually asked of us.

Obedience isn't about looking right on the outside. It's about being real with God on the inside.
God isn't asking for your best performance. He's asking for your "yes," even when it costs you something.

So here's the question: what is God asking you to obey today?

Jesus didn't prioritize being nice over speaking the truth — and neither should we.

Real love tells the truth. Even when it's hard. Even when people walk away.

Jesus didn't prioritize being nice over speaking the truth.

His love wasn't the kind that tiptoes around hard things — it was honest, courageous, and deeply compassionate.

Some were offended, some walked away, but He never softened His message to make anyone comfortable.

He didn't shape His words to gain approval or avoid conflict — He spoke plainly because He cared too much to let people miss the truth.

His honesty came from a heart that longed to heal, restore, and set people free.

Real love doesn't hide the truth — it speaks it gently, firmly, and faithfully, even when it's hard.
