Rosh Hashanah (literally “Head of the Year” in Hebrew) is the Jewish New Year. Rosh Hashanah is the first of the High Holy Days, beginning a 10-day period of soul searching and contemplation that concludes with Yom Kippur.
On Rosh Hashanah we dip apples in honey for a sweet new year and eat round challah to symbolize the circle on the year and the renewal of the new year.
We hope you have a sweet new year and are able to celebrate Rosh Hashanah with your loved ones. In honor of the holiday we think you should check out our Assistant Director of programs favorite Rosh Hashanah recipe for a spiced cider apple cake recipe with brown butter frosting, found at bit.ly/SpicedCiderAppleCakeRecipe or check out a directional video for how to braid a round challah at bit.ly/roundchallahdirections. Shanah tovah!!
