THURSDAY MORNING DEVOTIONAL AND PRAYER DAY 44 “HE HIMSELF KNEW”
Scripture; “And this he said to prove him: for he himself knew what he would do.” John 6:6 KJV
Where Philip saw impossibility.
JESUS saw provision.
The disciples counted coins. The SAVIOR counted upon the power of the FATHER.
John Gill observed that CHRIST never asked because He lacked wisdom, but to strengthen the faith of His followers.
Listen carefully, there are moments when GOD places us where human ability ends. It is
there that faith begins.
The Greek word translated “prove” is πειράζω (peirazō), meaning “to test or examine.”
YAHWEH does not test to make us fail. HE tests to reveal HIS faithfulness. How often have we worried while GOD already knew what HE would do?
Historical Reflection Signer #44
Thomas McKean
Thomas McKean endured constant danger throughout the Revolution yet remained steadfast in liberty’s cause.
Faithfulness is often measured during uncertainty.
Divine Providence
The LORD who fed Israel with manna now prepares bread for thousands through HIS SON. The GOD who provided yesterday still provides today.
TURNING POINTS FOR TODAY:
GOD already knows the answer.
Faith grows through testing.
Providence precedes provision.
JESUS is sufficient.
Let Us Pray:
YAHWEH, FATHER, we pray that YOU strengthen our faith, even when we cannot see YOUR plan. ADONAI help us to trust that YOU already know what YOU will do, because YOUR plan is perfect. LORD we ask that YOU direct our path so that we may bring glory to YOUR HOLY NAME. In JESUS’ Name, Amen!
