Fellowship North

Fellowship North Service Times: Every Sunday @ 10:00 AM (in person)
Online Sunday Service: via Facebook & YouTube Then we came to a turning point in 2006.

In 1984, a group of people who lived in North Little Rock were driving to west Little Rock every Sunday to attend Fellowship Bible Church. That group decided to plant a church north of the river so that we could bring people to a church in our own community. For several months, Robert Lewis (then the lead pastor at FBC) trained us and we became the first church plant by FBC. That June, Fellowship

North held our first worship service in the Northside YMCA, where we would meet for the next 7 years. We always knew we wanted to reach out to people who had given up on church, but none of us knew how to really run a church ourselves. Before long, we found Willow Creek Community Church in Chicago, and they were on a journey similar to ours. Willow helped us figure out what we were doing well, and what we could improve. Fellowship North continued to grow and become a place where the Bible is taught clearly to adults and students in a casual and welcoming atmosphere. Two important things happened: Harold Nash joined this team as one of our pastors, and later that year we were miraculously able to pay off a huge building debt. Both were a huge answer to prayer: our first African-American pastor, and freedom from a heavy financial burden. All during that year, we had prayed – telling God that once we were debt-free, we would do whatever God called us to next as a church. That payoff happened more quickly than we ever thought possible, and then we were ready to see what He had for us next! The leadership team spent much of 2007 seeking God about our mission and vision. In January of 2008, we defined that with these words. Mission:

to make disciples of all people

Vision:

We are an elder-led, multiethnic, intergenerational church, called out as the presence of Jesus in our world, pursuing His mission of reconciliation by making disciples, that in turn, make disciples.. We want to be a church where all people can find the truth, love, grace and mercy that only God offers, and hope and meaning for their lives. We also want to be a church that challenges people who have chosen to follow Jesus to settle for nothing less than being fully devoted to His Word and His God-calling for their life.

Someone has an anniversary!

Help us wish this wonderful couple a Happy Anniversary!

As they celebrate another year of marriage, join us in praying for them—that their love for one another will continue to grow and that their marriage will be a visible picture of Jesus’ faithful love for His bride, the Church.

Happy Anniversary! May God continue to bless your life together.

Church is God’s family—and family life is meant to be lived together.

As we wind down our **Church Is God’s Family** series, there are several ways we’re putting what we’ve learned into practice.

This Sunday, we’re making room during our gathering to answer your questions about the series—things you didn’t quite understand, questions about how to live it out, or something you simply want to explore more.

We’ll also have a Small Groups table in the lobby. If you’re not connected to a group, stop by and learn more. Small groups aren’t just places to hang out—they’re places to grow, be known, encourage one another, pray together, and live out the “one another” ministry of Scripture.

And then on September 20, we’re coming to the table. We’ll share breakfast and Communion together as a church family—remembering Jesus and celebrating what makes us family in the first place.

Questions. Community. The Table.

All of it points us toward being more than people who simply attend church. We are learning to belong and live as God’s family.

When you think about attending a church service, do you think there’s a difference between simply attending and truly belonging?

Were you with us Sunday? Whether you missed the message or were there and want to hear it again, today is a good day to listen—or re-listen—to Sunday’s message.

As you listen, consider: Am I simply attending church, or am I becoming part of the life of the body?

Listen, reflect, and consider what it means to move from attending to spiritually belonging.

A new month. A new season. New opportunities to love God, love one another, and love our community well.

As we step into September, we’re looking forward to worshiping together, gathering around the table, serving our neighbors, celebrating baptism, and continuing to grow as God’s family.

Whatever this month holds, may we walk into it with grateful hearts, open hands, and eyes ready to see where God is at work.

Hello, September. We’re ready for you!
