Augustine Catholic Church was founded on September 8, 1929 by Bishop John B Morris. The church was dedicated under the name of the great teacher, Saint Augustine. Today we no longer look upon ourselves as a mission church, but a Church with a mission.

Rejoice! Today is the Third Sunday of Advent called Gaudete Sunday. Gaudete means "rejoice".

On this day, we light the pink candle on the Advent wreath, hence the pink candle Sunday. The rose vestments symbolize our joy that Christmas is coming.

This day reminds us of the joy that is to come.
As we enter this season of penance, it's a nice break to remember the hope we have through the coming of Jesus.
