Journey Church

Journey Church Life is complicated...CHURCH SHOULDN'T BE! This is the passion of Journey Church.

We envision a new kind of Church, that produces a new kind of disciple ... people who realize that Jesus is not tacked onto a believer's life, but rather, is their life!

God willing, we will be back in His House, for Him, to give Him what He is due - the best that we’ve got - tomorrow morning at 10:50am!

We plan to continue our series in THE LETTER TO THE HEBREWS. In the first two weeks, we have seen the case made for Jesus being superior to the prophets and to the angels. He is, in fact, superior to all, as the Creator and Sustainer of the universe, and the only One who will ever be given authority over everything, who rules from the right hand of God The Father.

Holy Spirit breathed the words into the writer of THE LETTER, that having made the case for Jesus’ supremacy, to then shift to application. Given who Jesus is, how should we respond?

THE LETTER challenges Christians to not just know who He is, but to make our knowledge belief, and to make our belief rule our life. Family of God, let’s make the full commitment to our Lord and Savior!

Kay prepared the lessons and crafts for Journey Kids. Angie plans to teach our youngest hearts this week. Thankful for these two and for all the Journey family who use their talents and gifts to serve one another.

God’s Word (Ephesians 4) reminds us that He has a plan for Journey Church; that it will take a host of gifts and talents to carry out that plan; and that He will bring the people with the necessary gifts and talents needed for His purpose. None of us can do it all __ by God’s design!

It’s Saturday night . . . How is Holy Spirit calling us to prepare for gathering in worship of Him tomorrow? Is there someone He put in our path that we need to invite to join us?

God willing, we will be back in His House on Sunday Morning at 10:50am for the worship service.

It is that seventh Sunday from Easter and the day many Church congregations devote to celebrating the coming of The Holy Spirit into believers!

I close my eyes and try to imagine that day of Pentecost. I visualize people from some 15 different nations packed in the streets, pretty much shoulder to shoulder, there as God commanded for the Feast of Weeks (Exodus 34:22, Deuteronomy 16:9-12, Leviticus 23:15-22). How many tens of thousands, hundreds of thousands!

Meanwhile, the 120 or so disciples of Jesus together in one place, waiting as Jesus had instructed. Suddenly ... a sound like a mighty rushing wind filling the entire house ... divided tongues as of fire appeared and rested on each one ... and they were all filled with the Holy Spirit.

Then those crowds of people, wondering how these Galileans were now speaking to them in their native language! Peter stood up and began to preach and 3000 souls were saved - AND - were baptized! (Acts 2:1-41).

And The Church began to meet, devoting themselves to the apostles' teaching and the fellowship, to the breaking of bread and the prayers (Acts 2:42). THANK YOU GOD FOR SENDING YOUR SPIRIT! And it is THAT VERY SAME SPIRIT that is in us believers today!

We plan to gather for Week 2 of our study of Hebrews.

God's Spirit breathed into the author THE LETTER to encourage Christians. He still uses it for that very purpose. Need encouragement? (who can say "no" to that!) Let's begin preparing our hearts for "JESUS! God's Only Son." Pastor Kevin asks: “Please pray for me as I prepare and deliver God's message to His family this Sunday.”

Kay prepared the lessons and crafts for Journey Kids. Sandi plans to teach our youngest hearts (and is recruiting a couple of helpers!). Thankful for the hearts using God's gifts and talents to serve one another; not only our kids, but in the dozens and dozens of ways that you step forward in the operation and ministries of The Church.

It is Memorial Day Weekend and moreorless the kickoff to summertime in Arkansas. More importantly, on Monday, the reason for Memorial Day, the reason we can celebrate as we do __ remembering those who gave their lives in service to our country.

We are also remembering those who later took their lives after their service. The impact of seeing others wounded and killed; of being imprisoned; of being cutoff and alone, impacts our soldiers (and their families) for the rest of their lives.

Praying for the families of these soldiers who died for our freedom, or as a result of fighting for our freedom. May the God of all peace give them peace.

God willing, we plan to be back in His House tomorrow morning at 10:50am to worship Him 🙌

We plan to begin a new sermon series on THE LETTER TO THE HEBREWS! There are so many of us who have favorite passages from Hebrews, but Church surveys say this is one of the "least-preached" books of The Bible. We will talk about why that is. We do believe in preaching the "whole counsel of God" because we want to be "whole disciples of Jesus!"

Kay prepared the lessons and crafts for Journey Kids. Angie plans to teach our youngest hearts. Thank you, sisters, for responding to God's leading to grow our children in His Word! It truly "takes a family" to be The Church that God calls us to be; each using their God-given gifts and talents to serve one another.

May has been a busy month, hasn't it! Lots of school activities, especially for those who are graduating. After the death of Moses, Joshua led the people to the Jordan River. There he told the people, "Consecrate yourselves, for tomorrow the Lord will do wonders among you" (Joshua 3:5 ESV). And indeed He did - making a dry path across the river for the people to cross. This is a call for us to "consecrate ourselves" as we consider tomorrow's worship service. We are not crossing the river, but indeed, we can count on God moving among us and in us 🙌

Happy Mother’s Day 💛

This day reveals a wide range of emotions - from a day of loving celebration to a day of crying despair __ from loving memories to hurtful memories; or no memories at all __ from honor and trust to shame and betrayal. So much of God’s work in us is influenced by our Moms and/or your role as a Mom.

God willing, we will be back in His House for a worship service at 10:50am. We plan to talk about Moms in the context of what God has made clear since creation - the priority of love! God has given us His Word and songs that sing of His truth to grow in Christ tomorrow!

Kay prepared the lessons and crafts for Journey Kids. Sandi plans to teach our youngest hearts tomorrow. What a blessing it is to serve one another - there’s a blessing for both the serv-er and serv-ee! Thank you, Journey family, for using your God-given gifts and talents to serve each other in dozens and dozens of ways!

Has God put a Mom in your path who needs a place to bring her worship to God, who loves her unconditionally? Maybe now is the time to invite her to worship with us!

God willing, we will gather in His House tomorrow morning at 10:50am to bring Him the best we've got! Let's prepare our heart to worship the Only One Worthy!

We plan to read and discuss those last 16 verses of THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST! We read the first verses of THE REVELATION on Fourth of July weekend last year - it has been awhile! Thank You, Holy Spirit, for giving us the pace, and Your Presence, to read, hear, and discuss Your Magnificent, Never-Ending Word!

The conclusion to THE REVELATION provides us with God's wrap-up of what He has shown us. It's like a conclusion to a letter where the writer wants to say, "Remember these things."

And in this last passage, we will see these Top Ten Things we are reminded of. Then we can talk about how to apply those to our lives. Pastor Kevin: Please pray for me as I prepare and deliver God's message for us at Journey Church / Iglesia El Camino.

Sandi prepared the lessons and crafts for Journey Kids. Angie plans to teach our youngest hearts. Blessed to serve and be served! Thank you, ladies, and thank all of you who use your God-given gifts, talents, and skills to serve God's family at Journey Church in so many ways! It takes us all!

Thankful for God's blessing for those who read, hear, and obey THE REVELATION (Revelation 1:3, 22:7). Now, let's share and pass that blessing along to all those God puts in our path.

SUNDAY MORNING - 10:50am
4511 E. 43rd St. - North Little Rock

God willing, we will be back in His House tomorrow morning for a worship service at our usual time - 10:50am.

God has been gracious and patience with us through the first 21 chapters of the Revelation He gave to Jesus to give to us, His Church. Thank You, God! And now we plan to turn to the last chapter.

Since the first week of our time in Revelation - 9 months ago - we have known the outcome God was leading us to - that Jesus would be reigning a sinless world from His Throne in New Jerusalem! And what a blessing it has been - and continues to be - to see God's plan for dealing with Satan, with evil and unbelief, with our mortal bodies that age and die, with this corrupted world. Jesus said, "I am making all things new" followed by "It is done!" (Revelation 21:5-6).

As we step into chapter 22, we get our best glimpse into eternity with God. Seeing Him face to face and worshipping with Him, living forever in the paradise He has prepared for us! Excited to share God's Word with you tomorrow and His prompting as to how this perspective applies to our lives today. Pastor Kevin asks: Please pray for my preparation and delivery; that it would be exactly as God has downloaded to my heart - nothing added, nothing left out.

Sandi prepared the crafts and lessons for Journey Kids tomorrow. She plans to teach the youngest hearts God sends our way. What a blessing to use our God-given gifts and talents to serve one another. That is true in serving our youngest hearts and all those in our Church and those God puts in our path. It's only in serving one another that we get the two-fer benefit to them and to ourselves!

If you are looking for a House of God where you can worship Him, pray to Him, sing to Him, hear His Word preached and invite His Spirit to prompt change in you, and enjoy fellowship with His family, come visit us tomorrow!

God willing, we will be back in His House for our Sunday Morning Worship Service, scheduled to begin at 10:50am!

Last week, we turned the page into Chapter 21 of Revelation and there, we read that our earth and Heaven pass away, and God creates a new Heaven and new earth! And then, we see THE HOLY CITY, the New Jerusalem, come down from Heaven - a perfect gift from God Himself!

And now, THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST gives us a more detailed description of THE HOLY CITY! This amazing place where God will dwell with His Church, where we are finally free of the presence of sin, where there is no temple, because God is there! Where there is no sun and no moon, because the glory of God provides the light! Where the gates never close and our life moves into eternity in unity with disciples of Jesus from every tribe, every language, every people group, every nation. One people living with Our God!

Sandi prepared the lessons and crafts for Journey Kids. Angie is on deck to teach our youngest hearts this week. So thankful for Sandi, Angie, and Kay, who God has blessed with hearts to teach our kids about Jesus. We are blessed at Journey Church to have so many who are examples of 1 Peter 4:10, using their God-given gifts and talents to serve one another!

In THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST, we are blessed to see how God plans to deal with Satan, evil, and unbelief, and create the place where He will dwell with His family forever. It is easy to get distracted by the symbolism and the unusual images shared with us, but what a blessing to see the truth that Jesus will rule a sinless world from His throne in New Jerusalem where His disciples will live with Him forever!

God willing, we will be back in His House tomorrow morning at 10:50 for our worship service!

We left THE REVELATION OF JESUS CHRIST at the end of chapter 20 with God having completed the pouring out of His wrath on earth, and on Satan and his unholy trinity, and judging and executing each unbeliever’s eternal torment. The stage is set for what’s next …

And that’s Chapter 21, when we see the new heaven and new earth, and the holy city, New Jerusalem, coming down from heaven. Now, God’s dwelling place is with His people, as He envisioned when He created Adam and Eve! Excited to share this amazing truth, the fulfillment of God’s promise, and how The Holy Spirit compels us to respond to it!

Sandi prepared the lessons and crafts for Journey Kids; and she plans to teach our youngest hearts this week. Blessed beyond measure as God’s family at Journey Church uses its God-given gifts and talents to serve one another!

What a blessing it was to celebrate the death and resurrection of Our Lord Jesus last Sunday! And today, and everyday, the tomb is still empty, and we are to live our lives in celebration of this truth!

It is THAT Saturday ... that strange Saturday between Jesus taking His last breath on the cross and taking His first breath in the tomb. Perhaps a time to be still before God. A day to slow down a bit and reflect on what Jesus did for us. A day to prepare our heart for the biggest of all celebrations - HE LIVES!!!

God willing, we will be in His House for a Resurrection Sunday worship service at 10:50am. We also plan to do what we have done in 18 prior Resurrection Sundays - take family photos! If you would like photos, come a little early or plan to stay a little late.

We plan to have the preaching and singing mixed together. I would ask the Journey Kids to remain in the sanctuary for the worship service; and to help with the reading of the Bible passages. Would you do that, JKs?

We plan to read from God's Word, preach it, and sing about it; then move to another passage and do the same. We also plan to join in The Lord's Supper as a part of the worship service.

Pastor Kevin asks: Would you pray for me as I prepare for what The Lord has given for worshipping Him tomorrow?

Is there someone God put in your path this week - or has brought to mind - that you need to invite to join you for this Resurrection Sunday worship service? There is still time.

Or maybe you don't have a "church home" and as you reflect on this most amazing of all weekends, you long for one . . . we would love to meet you and worship with you this Resurrection Sunday.

Let's begin preparing our hearts for all God has planned for us for tomorrow.
