Devotions With Sissy Daily Devotions Welcome! Some of you may wonder how I came up with the name. I have brothers and I was the only girl. So my brothers always called me Sis.

I know the world is a little crazy right now, so after lots of praying and asking God what can I do for you this is what I feel I am being led to do. When I started having nephews and nieces they started calling me Sissy so that has stuck with me. Even people who are not my nieces or nephews call me Sissy. And I love it�

I wanted to create something that hopefully will help someone, maybe lift th

em when they are down in a valley. I want to have scriptures, kind words, even songs on here that may help someone. I wanted to have a place that some one can ask for prayer for a need or for a loved ones. I wanted to have a place where if someone has a praise or testimony they can share it and maybe it will help someone else struggling. A little bit about me for those of you that don’t know as well as others. I was born into a Christian family. My parents took all 6 of us kids to church. My granddad and my Uncle were Free Will Baptist preachers. My dad was a Deacon in the church. From a young age I learned about God and his love, and how he sent his son to save us. I also love to sing for the Lord. I may surprise you and put a video of me singing on here sometime. I have been married to my husband Michael for 31 years. I have 2 sons of my own Travis and Clint, and 3 bonus children I love like my own Amy, Shane, and Abby. We have 8 amazing grandchildren and 1 Angel grandson Oliver. I have been so blessed with much more than I deserve. I am not perfect by any means, I am just a Christian trying to do Gods work. I have made lots of mistakes in my past that I wish I could go back and change, but as we all know that is impossible to do. But we can always go to the Father and ask his forgiveness and help. Sometimes in life we wish we knew the future or predict what the future holds. But God already has a plan for one of us. The plans he has for us may make us scared to go out of our comfort zone. But situations that cause us to fear or be scared are opportunities for our faith to grow stronger. It’s all in his timing.

Good evening all!
Matthew 6:34 NLT
Don’t worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will bring its own worries.
Todays trouble is enough for today.

It is easy to get overwhelmed with the worries of the world and our own personal lives. I am very guilty of this.
But we have to remember we need to rely on God in these situations in our lives.
I recently was struggling with some situations in my life. I went to the dr and she changed some of my medications, which has helped.She also recommended I see a therapist, which has been great. But I also asked my church family to pray for me with this situation. I believe in the power of prayer and I know that God will guide me in the right direction.

Good afternoon all!

Lamentations 3:25
The Lord is good unto them that wait for him, to the soul seeketh him.

I am a firm believer in God knows what we need when we need it. Sometimes it is not easy to wait and be patient. Which is what I am struggling with right now. But I have remember he has never left my side or given more than I can bear, even though I feel like I am breaking he is still there in the midst of my trials. He is always there for me.
I also need to remind myself to be thankful for all of the blessings I have rather than focusing on what I don’t have. It is easy to loose focus of our blessings when we are feeling defeated.

Good evening all!

Tonight I have some prayer requests.
I have a cousin in KY who is not doing well and could use a touch from God.

I have a cousin in Indiana who had some surgery today, please remember her in prayer.

A very sweet lady from our church, her mom and family need prayers.

There is a family that I grew up with that lost their Mom today. She is now rejoicing in Heaven. The family needs prayer for comfort.

Our daughter-in-law is battling cancer. She is starting a chemo treatment this week.

Someone very special to me is having a biopsy this week. Please pray for good results.

Please remember all of these when you pray.
We have an amazing God that can do anything.

Though he slay me , yet will I trust in him.

We need to remember to go to him when we are uncertain of what the future holds for us. He will fill us with hope so that we can face each expecting a blessing. Remember it’s all in Gods timing.
