Today on the 25th Anniversary of 9/11, we here at the Basilica pray for the repose of those who perished that day with these traditional Maronite prayers from the office for the departed:
O Lord, make all the faithful departed who have gone to sleep in Your hope with true faith worthy of repose, delight, and bliss, especially those whose memorial we celebrate before Your Lordship today for You are good and the Lover of Mankind. And we offer glory and thanks to You, and to Your Father, and to Your living and Holy Spirit, now and always, forever. Amen.
O Lord, in Your mercy, make these, Your servants who have left from among us, worthy to mingle with the place of the living, the dwelling of the righteous, the assemblies of the just, and the abodes of the saints who have pleased You from eternity. And we offer glory and thanks to You, and to Your Father, and to Your living and Holy Spirit, now and always, forever. Amen.
May God grant them rest.
