St. John's Episcopal Church, North Haven, CT

St. John's Episcopal Church, North Haven, CT We are located at the top of the Town Green in North Haven. All are welcome to find a spiritual home in the Episcopal Church.

In The Episcopal Church, we strive to love our neighbors as ourselves and respect the dignity of every person. Our liturgy retains ancient structure and traditions and is celebrated in many languages. Both men and women, including those who are married, are eligible for ordination as deacons, priests and bishops. We believe in amendment of life, the forgiveness of sin, and life everlasting. Lay people exercise a vital role in the governance and ministry of our church. Holy Communion may be received by all baptized Christians, not only members of the Episcopal Church. We uphold the Bible and worship with the Book of Common Prayer. We affirm that committed relationships are lifelong and monogamous. Episcopalians also recognize that there is grace after divorce and do not deny the sacraments to those who have been divorced. We affirm that issues such as birth control are matters of personal informed conscience. We celebrate our unity in Christ while honoring our differences, always putting the work of love before uniformity of opinion.

Prayer for the Care of Creation

In wisdom you brought forth all that is,
to participate in your divine being, and to change, adapt, and grow in freedom.
You make holy the matter and energy of the universe that it may delight you and give you praise.
We thank you for gathering all Creation into your
heart by the energy of your Spirit and bringing it through
death to resurrection glory;
through the One in whom all things have their being,
Jesus Christ, your Wisdom and your Word. Amen.

On Friday, July 24, members of St. John's Sandwich Ministry met with US Representative Rosa DeLauro at Havens Harvest, where she recognized the hard work and dedication of all those who handle the logistics of connecting with food donors, finding recipient nonprofits, matching the type of food donated to the appropriate community, and coordinating volunteers.

Great work everyone! Thank you to everyone at St. John's who continues to support this important work.
