In Kids Rock, we talked about Jesus and teaching in parables. Today, we focused on 3 parables; lost sheep, lost coin, and the pordical son. We talked about the verse from Matthew 18:12 where Jesus refers to Him leaving the 99 to rescue 1 lost sheep. I had the children put their name in place of one lost sheep. We went outside and played sheep and shepherds. The children had to keep a balloon in the air and roam around, and the shepherd had to "try" to get the sheep in the pen. We begin with welcoming the children, asking for prayer requests and reasons for praise, going over our Bible memory verse, singing songs about the lesson, and watching a video from The Chosen about the Bible lesson.

In Kids Rock, we talked about Jesus' and His disciples continuing to do Jesus' ministry. Today, we focused on 3 parables that Jesus taught about God's kingdom, heaven and earth, should be like. The first parable was the kingdom of God, which is like a mustard seed. We talked about one of the smallest seeds, the mustard seeds, and grow into a HUGE tree. Jesus started His ministry with just 12 students, and still, here we are today talking about Him! We also talked about small acts of kindness we can do for others that mean so much more to the person we give it to. The second parable was about the kingdom of God, which is like yeast. I mixed baking soda and vinegar and showed the children how mixing these together completely changes both parts. Jesus taught that we are to change the world! The third about was about the kingdom of God is like a treasure. God's love is the greatest treasure we could give and receive. I want the children to remember this most of all. I buried foil covered chocolate coins in sand, and the kids needed to find the treasure. We then enjoyed the church picnic where the children love to play the game, eating donuts off a string.

In Kids Rock, we talked about Jesus' and His disciples continuing to do Jesus' ministry. Today, we focused on Jesus walking on water. We talked about the importance of "keeping our eye on Jesus." I asked the children how did Jesus get to the boat with the disciples? The children knew the answer. We also talked about the importance of trusting God. The children said that they trusted their parents, their siblings, police officers, and their teachers. The children were able to go outside and play on an obstacle game. The children had to jump over a river, hop like a frog, inch along like a snake, and jump from stone to stone to get to the end. Then we enjoyed the beautiful weather and celebrated the beginning of summer with bubbles and ice cream!

In Kids Rock, we talked about Jesus' and His disciples continuing to do Jesus' ministry. Today, we focused on Jesus feeding the 5000 with just 5 loaves and 2 fishes. We talked about how not only did Jesus feed the crowd spiritually but also physically. We begin with welcoming the children, asking for prayer requests and reasons for praise, going over our Bible memory verse, singing songs about the lesson, and watching a video about the Bible lesson. We took a flat balloon and blew it all the way up (completely full, the balloon was 24" round). We wanted to show the children the miracle that Jesus could take very little food and feed over 5000 men, women, and children until they were satisfied and still have leftovers! The children watched a video from The Chosen about the lesson. Then we talked about the importance of Memorial Day, and they made a craft.

Happy Mother's Day from Kids Rock!!

In Kids Rock, we talked about Jesus being the good shepherd. Jesus is a great example for us in our lives that we want to follow. Our mom's are also wonderful examples for our children to follow.
