The VanEst’s are fine after the hurricane. It got really windy about 11pm. We lost power about 11:30…no trees down…all business assets were unscathed. The Mobile Shower Trailer is fine also…

Now to assess how Hope Ambassadors can best assist in our community.

If you can spare a few dollars for fuel and gas for the Mobile Shower Unit, it is appreciated. PM me and I can provide a couple ways you can give. We appreciate and love y’all!

Shaken but Not Broken

Scripture: “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” - Psalm 27:1 (NIV)

Friends, I want to share with you a deeply personal experience—something that shook me to my core. As many of you know, I recently had a major heart attack. There was a moment, as I lay there in pain, that I could almost hear the echoes of that old song: “Knock, knock, knocking on heaven’s door.” It felt like my time had come, and I was about to step into eternity.

In those moments, my faith was shaken. I questioned, “God, is this it? Is this how my story ends?” It’s natural to feel fear and uncertainty when faced with the very real prospect of death. My heart cried out with the same human frailty that we all experience in times of crisis.

But even as fear tried to take hold, I was reminded of the words from Psalm 27:1, “The Lord is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear? The Lord is the stronghold of my life—of whom shall I be afraid?” This scripture became my anchor. It reminded me that no matter how close I came to heaven’s door, God was still in control.

As I reflected on what happened, I realized that Monday wasn’t my day to meet Jesus. I like to believe that God still has work for me to do here on this earth. My heart attack, as terrifying as it was, has given me a renewed sense of purpose and a deeper appreciation for each day that God grants me.

This experience has also taught me something profound about faith. Faith isn’t about never being shaken; it’s about where you turn when you are. It’s about choosing to trust God’s plan, even when it doesn’t make sense in the moment. Faith is knowing that whether we live or die, we are secure in God’s hands.

I want to encourage each of you today: life is fragile, and none of us knows the number of our days. But we do know this—God is our stronghold, our light, and our salvation. When the storms of life come, and they will, let’s choose to trust in Him.

Let’s remember that our faith isn’t defined by the absence of fear but by our decision to hold on to God even when we’re afraid. And let’s live each day with the confidence that, as long as we’re here, God has a purpose for us.

So, keep pressing forward, my friends. Trust in God’s timing, and know that whether we’re knocking on heaven’s door or walking through the valley, God is with us, and He will carry us through.

Forgiveness is a powerful key that unlocks freedom and the potential for reconciliation in our lives. It’s not always easy, but it’s essential for maintaining a pure heart before God. In our recent message, we explored how unforgiveness traps us in bitterness, while forgiveness opens the door to healing and restored relationships. Remember, forgiveness is a choice, not a feeling, and it’s a journey that requires God’s strength. If you’re struggling with forgiveness, take it to God—He’s ready to help you release the hurt and walk in His peace, love, and joy.

Abel’s Faith in Offering a Better Sacrifice

Good morning, friends! Today, I want to take a moment to reflect on the incredible faith of Abel, as we dive into the first point from my message this past week.

Our focus is on Hebrews 11:4, which says, “By faith Abel brought God a better offering than Cain did. By faith he was commended as righteous, when God spoke well of his offerings. And by faith Abel still speaks, even though he is dead.”

Abel’s story teaches us a crucial lesson about the nature of true worship and the importance of the heart’s condition when making offerings to God. Abel’s offering was more acceptable to God than his brother Cain’s because it was given in faith. This wasn’t just about the physical act of giving; it was about the faith and sincerity behind it. Abel’s heart was fully devoted to God, and that made all the difference.

The Greek word for faith, “pistis,” conveys a sense of trust, belief, and conviction. Abel’s offering was an act of “pistis.” He trusted God completely and believed that God deserved his very best. True worship is not just about the act but about the faith and sincerity behind it.

Cain, on the other hand, brought some of the fruits of the soil, but his offering lacked the same depth of faith and devotion. God saw beyond their actions to the condition of their hearts. The difference between Abel and Cain lies in the heart’s condition. Abel’s sincere faith made his offering pleasing to God, while Cain’s lack of genuine devotion led to rejection.

God looks beyond our actions and sees the heart behind them. It’s a powerful reminder that our relationship with God isn’t about outward appearances but about the true state of our hearts. When we approach God, whether in worship, in prayer, or in giving, we must do so with sincere faith and complete trust in Him.

Ponder this…

1. Reflect on your recent acts of worship and giving. Are they driven by genuine faith and a heart fully devoted to God, or are there areas where you might be holding back? What steps can you take to ensure your offerings are more like Abel’s?

2. Consider the importance of faith and sincerity in your relationship with God. How can you cultivate a deeper trust in Him that influences every aspect of your worship and giving?
