In Loving Memory of Former First Lady, Martha A. Vizcarra, 1931-2022

I was born on January 20, 1931, in the city of Brawley, California. My parents were Cayetano Araujo Romero and Aurelia Medina Serrano. My sisters and brothers Olga and Celia (deceased), Cayetano, Guillermo, José, Pedro, and Joel Araujo Medina.

In the year 1947, the Lord strongly called me to obey the first step towards the salvation of my soul and I was baptized in the glorious name of our Lord Jesus, by the evangelist Eduwiges Cazares, in Mexicali, Baja California, being our Pastor brother Telesforo Lozano Martínez. Within a week, the Lord filled me with the Holy Spirit speaking in new tongues. These were days of great happiness in my youthful life.

In 1953, I married the young pastor Manuel Vizcarra Juvera on December 6 at the Apostolic Church of San Luis Rio Colorado, Sonora. Officiating our marriage was Bishop Supervisor Blas González Aguilar. At that time, I settled in San Luis to help my husband in the Lord's work. We had five children: Milca, Bernie, Martha Melita, Manuel, and Mark.

On April 7, 2003, my husband passed on to a better life to be with the Lord, leaving me emptiness and sadness in my heart. Only God, through His Holy Spirit, gave me help and strength. I am encouraged by the satisfaction that he was a faithful servant of God and that he finished his race with joy. My desire is to be faithful to the Lord to meet him not many days from now.
