WHEN JESUS STEPS INTO THE BOAT

In the Bible passage Luke 5:1–11, we read the story of Peter’s boat. We read about how it held his work, experience, disappointments, and empty nets.

But then, Jesus stepped in. 🛶

Peter didn’t have everything figured out. He simply followed—and Jesus began changing him from the inside out. ❤️

Sometimes Jesus meets us right in the middle of our ordinary moments and invites us deeper.

TOMORROW IS LABOR DAY

Before we enjoy the long weekend, let’s take a moment to remember what Labor Day is really about.

It’s more than cookouts 🌭, sales 🛍️, and a day off. It’s a time to recognize the contributions of American workers and the generations who worked for greater dignity, safety, and value in the workplace. 🛠️

As we head into Labor Day, let’s look for ways to honor the people whose work keeps our families and communities going:

🙏 Pray for your coworkers and those who may be working tomorrow.

💛 Encourage someone whose work often goes unnoticed.

☕ Thank someone serving others on Labor Day.

🌱 Remember: Whatever work God has given you to do, your labor is not in vain.

📖 “Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up.” — Galatians 6:9

May we enter this Labor Day with gratitude for work, appreciation for workers, and a commitment to bring others closer to Jesus everywhere we go. ❤️

As we step into a new month, let’s slow down enough to notice the moments God places in our path.

✨ An unexpected conversation.
🤝 A chance to help.
💛 Someone who needs encouragement.
🙏 A nudge from the Holy Spirit to reach out.

What if some of these moments aren’t coincidences—but God appointments?

This September, let’s pray for open eyes, willing hearts, and the courage to respond when God invites us to be part of someone else’s story.

🌉 Yesterday, we started our “God Encounters” series! ❤️

This series invites us to notice the everyday opportunities God gives us to connect with others, offer compassion, and be a blessing.

A God Encounter might look like:

🍽️ Buying someone lunch
💬 Offering a word of encouragement
👂 Lending a listening ear
🤝 Being there when someone needs you
🙏 Simply noticing someone and taking the time to connect

We’re learning to build bridges to God through the way we care for and connect with the people around us—not just on Sabbath, but every day.

🌿 Knowing God changes the way we see everything.

Transformation doesn’t begin with having all the answers. It begins with being present with God—making space to know Him, to hear His voice, and to see ourselves through His eyes.

And as we grow closer to Him, we begin to notice what He notices. 👀

The neighbor we might normally overlook.
The person who needs someone to listen.
The opportunity to show kindness.
The moment when love can make a difference. ❤️

This week, take a little time to be with God, listen closely, notice those around you, and ask Him how you can love well.

🌱

What if the person you encounter today is already being prepared by God?

In Acts 8, Philip didn’t create the Ethiopian’s hunger for God. The Holy Spirit was already at work—stirring questions, creating curiosity, and preparing the way.

Our role isn’t always to have the perfect words or manufacture a spiritual moment. Sometimes, it’s simply to slow down, listen well, ask questions, and be willing to join God in what He is already doing. 🙏

👂 This week’s challenge: Listen before speaking. Ask before assuming. Trust that God is already at work.
