Michael Card and John Thompson wrote "El Shaddai" in 1981. The song (number 123 in The United Methodist Hymnal) utilizes lyrics in the Hebrew language, adding to the timeless aspect of God's name--as these words have existed for thousands of years.

"El Shaddai, El Shaddai,
El Elyon na Adonai;
age to age you're still the same
by the power of your name." 🎶

The scripture reading for today was John 6:35--the multiplication of bread and fish. The title of the sermon was Bread of Life.
Justin Carroll brought us the message. We should look to Jesus over our own desires. He came to BE the bread of life. Jesus came to change our desire to make HIM our focus. God is the ultimate provider. Are we seeking the miracle or the provider?
