Please be in prayer for Deborah Summey and their family. Richard is a great man of God and we rejoice that he’s now fully healed and in the presence of the LORD! Richard served our church faithfully for many years and we praise God for him. Well done good and faithful servant!

Our hearts are heavy today as we share that our beloved Pastor Emeritus, Richard Summey, has gone home to be with the Lord.

Shortly after 1:00 p.m. today, Pastor Richard closed his eyes for the last time on this earth and opened them again in the presence of his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.

Richard was much more than a pastor to us. He was a dear friend, a faithful servant of Christ, and a treasured part of the Folly Beach Baptist Church family. We are so thankful for his years of ministry, his love for people, and the lasting impact he made on our church and community.

Please especially keep his beloved wife, Debbie, and their family in your prayers. We love them dearly and pray that they will feel the Lord’s presence, comfort, and peace in the days ahead.

Today we grieve, but we do not grieve without hope. We rejoice knowing that Richard is home.
