Instead of engaging in good deeds or seeking wisdom to gain personal status, approval, or reciprocity-which can easily fail due to the fickle nature of human recognition-wisdom should be pursued faithfully with the trust that God uses it for His glory. The Biblical concept of sowing and reaping is very much embraced by our Western culture, but Ecclesiastes reminds us that life doesn’t always work the way we expect. Bad things still happen even when we feel we’ve done all the right things—and sometimes the opposite is true.

This Sunday, Pastor Raven spoke from Ecclesiastes 9:1-12, challenging us to release the burden of trying to control our circumstances and instead trust that God, in His love and wisdom, is sovereign over them. Our humble faith in the God who is the Author of the whole story gives us peace in the midst of our limited understanding and powerlessness.

This Sunday we got to celebrate and send off the Higgins family as their continue their ministry in Scotland. We could not be more thankful for all the years the Higgins have poured into Grace City and ask that you continue to pray for them as they make this transition this weekend!
