This week Pastor Plonk closed out our Bank Account Theology sermon series by preaching through Philippians 4:10-20 on the topic of contentment.

The world has many definitions of what contentment means: inward emotional calm, being happy all the time, freedom from comparison, etc. But in Philippians 4, Paul writes about being content in any circumstance, how he is anchored and steady in the Lord; his emotions weren’t always stable, but contentment transcends emotions. A biblical contentment comes from wanting and knowing Christ, when we have a new affection for Him that surpasses any love we have for the things of this world. Contentment is not inherited, but learned through life’s lessons as we lean on the all-sufficient Savior. As Pastor Plonk said, “If Jesus is our bullseye, contentment will be the fruit.”

Thank you for worshiping with us this past Sunday! As we continued in our series, Bank Account Theology, Pastor Will Plonk spoke on 2 Corinthians 9:6-15.
God doesn't just care about what we give; He cares about why we give. He desires both our hearts and our actions.
We give joyfully because God gave first. His mercy forgives us, and His grace has blessed us beyond measure. If generosity feels like a struggle, it may be because we haven't yet grasped how much we've already received.
We've believed a lie: that we're meant to be dependent when we're young and independent when we grow older. But the truth is, everything we have belongs to God. We can't control our gifts once we've released them, and we were never meant to.
The challenge this week: pray over everything you spend, save, and give.
Generosity is the proof of a living, active faith.

This past Sunday, Pastor Nelson brought a challenging and encouraging word from The Gospel of Matthew 25 - the parable of the talents, or “the bags of gold.”

This parable reveals an extraordinary Master who calls His servants to extraordinary stewardship. It invites us to consider:

1. What view do we have of the character of our Heavenly Father, who has entrusted us with His resources - our time, talents, and treasure?
Do we truly see Him as good and gracious, or are we living in fear, burying what He has placed in our hands?

2. If we believe God is gracious, are we stewarding His gifts in a way that we could confidently give an account before Him?

Pastor Nelson encouraged us to live with the vision of hearing the Father’s approval: “Well done, good and faithful servant.” And to remember that when we love “the least of these,” we are loving Him with the same love He first showed us....and THAT is the heart of Biblical stewardship.

Listen to the sermon in full on Spotify or wherever you get your podcasts, and please join us this coming Sunday as we continue to explore the scriptures and how the Lord desires for us to think about money and steward our resources!
