Using Your Spiritual Authority
True spiritual authority is not earned through our own efforts; it is our God-given right. In Luke 10:19, Jesus says, "Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy: and nothing shall by any means hurt you."
While the devil has dunamis—raw force and influence—his power is limited. As believers, we have been given exousia (legal authority). God has granted us the absolute right to override the enemy's force, bind his work, and command victory in Jesus' name.
James 4:7 shows us how to exercise this authority: submit to God, resist the devil, and he will flee. Stand on God's Word. Exercise your authority over your home, job, health, and family. The enemy is already defeated, and the greater One lives in you (1 John 4:4).
