Today we celebrate Aldersgate Day — the moment that changed the life and ministry of John Wesley and helped ignite the Methodist movement around the world. On May 24, 1738, while listening to the reading of Luther’s preface to Romans, Wesley wrote that his heart was “strangely warmed” as he came to fully trust in Christ’s saving grace.

Aldersgate Day reminds us that faith is not just about knowledge or tradition, but about a personal relationship with Jesus Christ that transforms our hearts and lives.

As Methodists, we give thanks for the legacy of John Wesley: a faith rooted in Scripture, shaped by grace, and lived out through holiness, compassion, and service to others.

May we continue to seek God with all our hearts and share His love with our community and the world.
