"IS FEAR" THE REAL THREAT?

THE CRISIS: Could it be "FEAR"? The unpleasant emotion caused by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat to me or my family

QUESTION: Is the real threat for many, perhaps the fear of the unknown. We tend to react to fear, either real or imagined, in much the same way.

GENERAL PATTON: Reminded his men to "not take counsel from their fears". Rather identify them and then face them with courage.

"The 3 Big Mistakes some People Make In Difficult Times":

MISTAKE #1 Allowing FEAR to inflict or dictate decision making;

MISTAKE #2 Waiting for someone else to solve our problems and the issues that come from our fears!

MISTAKE #3 Using your same "Battle Strategy" and the same skills you used before the crisis. Every crisis is different!

I THINK, Psalm 27:1-6 would be a great Battle Rhythm for your family today; use that scripture to neutralize the fear of the enemy. I trust you will find a nugget or two to sustain you in the fight.

SCRIPTURE: (Psalm 27:1-6) “The Lord” is my light and my salvation—whom shall I fear. The Lord is the stronghold of my life of whom shall I be afraid? When the wicked advance against me to devour[a] me, it is my enemies and my foes who will stumble and fall. Though an army besiege me, my heart will not fear though war break out against me ,even then I will be confident. One thing I ask from the Lord, this only do I seek: that I may dwell in the house of the Lord all the days of my life, to gaze on the beauty of the Lord and to seek him in his temple.5 For in the day of trouble he will keep me safe in his dwelling; he will hide me in the shelter of his sacred tent and set me high upon a rock.6 Then my head will be exalted above the enemies who surround me; at his sacred tent I will sacrifice with shouts of joy; I will sing and make music to the Lord.

CLOSING SCRIPTURE: (2 Timothy 1:7) “FOR GOD” has not given us the spirit of fear, but of love, power and a sound mind.

HEALTH TIP FOR TODAY: Nearly half of all Americans will be obese by year 2030. Mediterranean-style diets and other strategies help reduce excess body weight!

JESUS’ BLOOD PAID FOR EVERYTHING- WE OWE HIM OUR COMPLETE TRUST.

OPENING STATEMENT: Because Jesus took care of everything at Calvary, I owe HIM my trust when things do not look good or according to what I felt was promised to me.

OUR LIVES: are comprised of “ACTS OF FAITH” , as well as an abiding trust. Our life experiences, should help us to see that bold faith stands on the shoulders of quiet trust.

DEVELOPMENT OF FAITH: This development happens in our lives when things look different from what we had planned or prayed for.

NURTURING TRUST: is very important to God and important for the development of Christ-like character “IN US”. It’s that vital to our life in Christ

ABSOLUTE TRUST: Is when, I truly believe that Jesus really did cover everything I’ll ever need, for eternity, when HE suffered in my place on the cross.
MY PERSONAL DEPT: I owe “HIM” my complete trust when things look different than expected.

SCRIPTURE:(ROMANS 8:32)He who did not spare HIS own son, but delivered HIM over for us all, how will HE not also with HIM freely give us all things? We owe HIM our complete trust!

CLOSING STATEMENT: If Father God, offered HIS own son for our salvation, everything else is included in that extreme gift. Nothing else we will ever need will be able to compete in significance with that one gift. Because of this fact, it becomes rather foolish to question HIS heart in caring for the other needs in our lives.

HEALTH TIP FOR TODAY: Get plenty of exercise! Exercise helps to improve your memory, learning, and thought process; it will also help you get sounder sleep, support a healthy mood, and more!

WHAT DO WE DO NOW?

QUESTION: What does God want you to do while you’re waiting on an answer to your prayer?

SCRIPTURE: (Psalm 37:7) says, “Be still in the presence of the LORD, and wait patiently for him to act” (NLT). God wants you to wait patiently for him to answer your prayer.

WAITING ON GOD: We get the spiritual wiggles while we’re waiting for God to answer a prayer. We get nervous and restless. We want to jump up and do something. But God says, “Wait patiently”. Be still. Watch me act. Don’t get restless, don’t get nervous, and don’t try to take matters into your own hands.”

TRY NOT: to make Abraham’s mistake in the Old Testament of trying to be the answer to your own prayer. It will cause all kinds of problems! One day God told Abraham that he was going to make him the father of a great nation. There were only two problems: Abraham was 99 years old, and he was childless. Abraham looked at his own body and said, “I don’t think so, God!” And he looked at his wife Sarah, who was infertile, and said, “Double no way! It ain’t gonna happen.”

JUST TRUST GOD : Abraham took matters into his own hands and had a baby with his wife’s maid, Hagar. Abraham said, “Here’s my answer to prayer! I’ve got a son at 99. His name is Ishmael.” God said, “No, no. You missed the point. That’s not my answer to prayer. That’s your own answer to prayer. I’ve got a miracle boy who’s coming, and Sarah’s going to be the mom. You’re going to name him Isaac.” Isaac means “laughter.” When Sarah was told that she was going to be pregnant, the Bible says she laughed because she didn’t believe God.

THE LAST LAUGH: But God had the last laugh. Isaac was born, and it started an intense rivalry between him and Ishmael that we’re still paying for today. The tense relationship between Jews and Arabs all began because Abraham tried to answer his own prayer request.

STAY PATIENT: Whenever you try to answer your own prayer, you’re asking for trouble. Instead, wait patiently, and watch God act.

GOOD MORNING

“THROUGH” GOD’S FAVORITE WORD!

OPENING SCRIPTURE: (Isaiah 43:2) “When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and through the rivers, they shall not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you shall not be burned, nor shall the flame scorch you.”

HAVE YOU EVER: felt like life’s shutting down all around you. The government shuts down. Communication with our teen cuts off. Our marriage is on the fritz. Our health fails! And then, during a pandemic, we face the very real shut downs everywhere we turn.

THE QUESTION? How do we get through? We can’t logic our way past the problems. Or yell our way out. And we certainly can’t drink our way to an exit ramp. Let’s be honest. Life can be pretty rough, and sometimes it gets worse before it gets better.

REMEMBER JOSEPH ? Jacob’s son—the one with the coat of many colors and brothers from two different mothers? Those brothers threw him into a pit, and it went downhill from there. Abandonment led to enslavement, then entrapment and finally imprisonment. He was sucker punched. Sold out. Mistreated. People made promises only to break them, offered gifts only to take them back. Life shut down. Sound familiar?

JOSEPH NEVER QUIT: Bitterness never staked its claim. Anger never turned into hatred. His heart never hardened; his resolve never vanished. He not only survived; he thrived. He ascended like a helium balloon. An Egyptian official promoted him to chief servant. The prison warden placed him over the inmates. And Pharaoh, the highest ruler on the planet, shoulder-tapped Joseph to serve as his prime minister. And then he used this authority for great good. It’s not hyperbole to state that he saved the world from starvation.

THE QUESTION: What did he know? How did he flourish in the midst of tragedy and difficulty? Joseph knew that in God’s hands intended evil becomes eventual good. He worked a plan and he trusted God. He knew that, with God’s help, he would get through. This is still true today.

OVERCOMING DIFFICULTY: To be sure, the times are difficult. Just as Joseph did, we face governmental uncertainty, family dysfunction and personal suffering. But just like Joseph, we can trust God to trump evil. It may not be painless, or quick. But God will use this mess for good. Don’t give in to despair.

WITH GOD’S HELP, WE CAN GET THROUGH THIS!

QUESTION: Do you find yourself hitting the wall right now? Hang in there, we will discover so much about the God who knows our painful circumstances and never leaves us.

IN CLOSING: God doesn't promise that getting through trials will be quick or painless. That certainly wasn’t the case for Joseph, who was tossed in a pit by his brothers, sold into slavery, wrongfully imprisoned, forgotten and dismissed, but God ultimately used the intended evil against Joseph for a greater purpose.

BE AND STAY SAFE!
