Many people have said upon visiting our church that we are the friendliest they have encountered. We are very much a family unit; we worship, pray, sing, laugh, and eat together weekly on Sundays and so many other events and activities throughout the entire year. We welcome any who wish to join our community of faith.

On Sunday, November 21st it was my final weekly worship service at St. Thomas. I would like to thank the Vestry and all parishioners for their support. The Vestry gave Mom and me a very nice luncheon on Saturday at the home of Dennis and Michelle. The reception after the worship service was very nice. God's blessings in the future to all.

I had a wonderful visit with Bishop Ruth and received the Bishop's Cross. Thank you, Bishop, for publicly honoring my ministry in this way. May God continue to bless your episcopate and time in the Diocese of South Carolina.

At the 231st Diocesan Convention, I was blessed and honored to receive the Bishop's Cross from Bishop Ruth Woodliff-Stanley. This was her inaugural Convention and first time presenting the Bishop's Cross. Our Convention was hybrid. Some people attended in-person and others were on Zoom. Our delegates attended by Zoom. Thank you Bishop Ruth for recognizing my ministry to the diocese as treasurer in this way. Blessings

This past Sunday, St. Thomas had a double baptism. Imogen Faye Smith and Michael Patrick Youells were welcomed into the family of God and marked as Christ's own forever. I had the privilege to perform the wedding for both of these couples. Life continues to move forward. May the love and grace of God shine in their lives forever.

St. George Has A New Rector
We are thrilled to announce that on January 2, 2022, The Reverend Dr. James Taylor will join St George as our rector and spiritual leader. St. George is located in The Villages, Florida.

The Rev. Dr. James Taylor is a lifelong Episcopalian. After graduating with his Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of North Carolina at Wilmington, he responded to God’s call to the priesthood by enrolling at The Virginia Theological Seminary (VTS). He graduated and was ordained in 1992. Father Jim continued his education at VTS and in 2014 he completed his Doctor of Ministry degree, writing his Project Thesis on stewardship; Transforming the Giver: Effecting Congregational Giving Patterns Through Faith, Gratitude, Formation, and Proclamation.
Father Jim Taylor has applied these impressive credentials over the past thirty years at six congregations in North and South Carolina, most recently serving 18 years as rector of St Thomas Episcopal Church in North Charleston, SC.

“I was drawn to the parish of St. George because it is a loving Christian community committed to worshiping God and serving our neighbors. The staff and music program provide spiritual gifts to everyone that gives great hope and inspiration. I am eager to work in collaboration with parishioners as we build on a strong foundation of ministry.”

Father Jim relaxes by working out at the gym, enjoying leisurely walks, and is a ‘closet techie’ experimenting with website design.

For the Bishop Consecration of Ruth Woodliff-Stanely, the diocese asked each church to donate a flower arrangement for Saturday. We had Fredericks Florist put together a special arrangement for St. Thomas. Thanks to Edith Reeves for working with Frederick's to make this beautiful creation. Blessings.
