A Sobering Warning Against Relapse and yes Relapse from drugs is connected to Spiritual warfare:
I need to say something with urgency and love—because I’ve seen too much to stay silent. When you open the door to addiction again, you’re not just picking up an old habit… you are inviting in a demonic spirit that you were once delivered from. And it doesn't come back alone.
I've seen it with my own eyes—men who relapse and within hours their entire face changes. The light in their eyes is gone. There's a blank, tormented stare that takes over. Their voice changes. Their spirit shifts. It's terrifying to witness. This isn't just about a “slip”—this is a spiritual war.
Jesus warns us in Matthew 12:43–45 (NIV):
> “When an impure spirit comes out of a person, it goes through arid places seeking rest and does not find it. Then it says, ‘I will return to the house I left.’
When it arrives, it finds the house unoccupied, swept clean and put in order.
Then it goes and takes with it seven other spirits more wicked than itself, and they go in and live there.
And the final condition of that person is worse than the first…”
Let that sink in. Freedom isn’t just about getting clean—it’s about staying filled. If Jesus delivers you but you don’t fill your life with His Spirit, His Word, His purpose, and His people… the enemy will come back, and he’ll come back harder.
This is why it's not enough to stop using. You must start walking—with Jesus. Fill your life with prayer. Dive into the Word. Stay in fellowship. Don’t just clean the house—occupy it with the Holy Spirit.
Relapse is more than falling back—it can be falling deeper into bo***ge than you ever were before. The enemy wants your soul. But Jesus came to give you life—and life abundantly.
My warning is this and please do take heed to my warning:
Don’t crack the door. Don’t entertain the thought. Don’t flirt with the lie that “just one time” is harmless. It’s not. Stay armored up. Stay accountable. Stay filled. Stay free.
You’ve come too far to go back.
Jesus didn’t just save you from addiction—He saved you for a purpose.
You are not worthless you can be saved
