This past Wednesday, we wrapped up our last Huddle at Dubose Middle School in Summerville. Both students will be attending Summerville High School in the Fall! Within this last meeting, we also said a “see you later” to our faithful sponsor Mrs. Carolyne Carter. She is being sent on mission to Honduras for the next few years to live out an answered prayer. Though we are sad to say goodbye for now, I know the Lord will be faithful in using her and her family’s lives as a ministry to the people in Honduras. She models a true love and joy only found in Christ. Please join us in praying for her as she flies out this weekend, praying for safe travels, comfort in the goodbyes, and confidence in taking next steps to get established.

How has FCA impacted YOU? Jaemin Pinckney from Woodland HS—the same school as Coach Calvin Linning— shares a glimpse into what FCA has done for him and we love to see him on the Woodland HS field helping condition and discipline these young men on the football field.

Sweetest moment, 8th graders from East Edisto sending our FCA sponsor Rebecca Sauers off in prayer. Sadly, she will be moving to Columbia to teach, but these students had the opportunity to pray with and for her before leaving. These students also spent their last Huddle reflecting on what they learned from the past year and creating notes for the upcoming 8th graders class. I would encourage you to take a minute, zoom in, and read a few of these notes. They have been a joy to learn and grow with, excited to see them next year at Summerville and Ashley Ridge High School.

East Edisto 6th Grade Huddle! These kids come into the classroom each Friday truly filled with JOY! When the question is asked “Who wants to lead next week?” there is never a shortage of hands in the air eager to get up in front of their peers to share and discuss the scriptures. I cannot give enough praise to our sibling teacher-sponsor duo, Kyle Wilson and Brittany Johnson. The love that these two have for the kids is truly a reflection of the Lord’s love. They have been faithful in serving with FCA, creating new lessons, encouraging these kids in faith, and most importantly providing a place for us to gather each week (and sometimes donuts 😉). See yall next year in 7th grade!

On Saturday, we had our first FCA Baptism at Faith-Ridgeville, 3 students and 1 teacher from Woodland High school. Jimmy Gleason and Michael Knotts have been faithfully serving Woodland MS and HS. Through their time, they have seen a huge increase in attendance at the weekly Huddles, students who are stepping up to lead, and now 4 men who took a step of obedience of witnessing their faith through baptism. We plan to have many more days like these through a continued presence at Woodland HS and are hopeful to see more students professing their faith within this next year!! Please join us in praying over these men as they continue to grow in His Image!

Throwback to April: East Edisto FCA Leaders Matthew Tanner and Rebecca Sauers worked together to co-coach their FEARLESS Girl’s Flag Football team!! They placed 3rd overall in the tournament🥉 We also had some AMAZING donors who volunteered to help referee the game and help pass out devotionals, drinks, and snacks to the families and students!

The FCA Staff that serves Dorchester and Colleton County, Austin Ge**er, Jimmy Gleason, Michael Knotts, Willa McLellan, Aimee Ge**er, Jeff Ge**er, and Leroy Riley ( not pictured ). Though not all of us are related by blood, we are a family of daughters and sons of the King out on mission to make His name and Word known. At our second the last East Edisto 8th Grade Huddle we did something a little different….. With these students entering into high school next year we wanted to try to make the transition a little easier. FCA staff, Willa Mclellan and Austin Ge**er coordinated with Ashley Ridge FCA to bring their student leaders to meet the 8th grade students. The Ashley Ridge leaders shared pieces of their testimonies and how FCA has helped their walk of faith by providing fellowship with other believers inside their schools and sport environments!!
