Good morning sweet sweet Holy Spirit. There’s a difference between being encouraged by somebody and needing somebody to constantly tell you how great you are. That distinction matters because if your confidence depends on applause, the person giving you the applause can also influence your decisions. Proverbs 29:25 says the fear of man brings a snare, and I think that applies to more than being afraid of people. Sometimes we become so hungry for approval that we’ll compromise what we know is right just to keep receiving it. Passion is different. When you actually know what you believe and why you believe it, you don’t have to be the loudest person in the room, and you don’t have to change direction every time somebody disagrees with you. You can listen without being controlled, receive correction without being crushed, and accept a compliment without becoming dependent on the next one. There’s nothing wrong with being appreciated, but don’t let somebody else’s opinion become the steering wheel for your life. Be teachable, but don’t be easily steered. Be humble, but don’t be desperate for approval. There’s a big difference.

Colossians 2:13: "When you were dead in your sins and in the uncircumcision of your sinful nature, God made you alive with Christ. He forgave us all our sins." Holy Bible.

At the crucifixion of Jesus, all of mankind's sin---including yours---was nailed to the cross and canceled. "The flesh with its passions and desires" has been put to death (Galatians 5:24).

This means the person you were before salvation was crucified with the Savior, and you can never be that person again. The old you is dead, and the person you are today is a brand-new creation: a child of God, clothed in His righteousness.

While your full victory over sin won't be complete on earth, you can be confident that Jesus has declared believers holy, righteous, and blameless. Until you admit you are a sinner, you have no need of a Savior.

Dear friends, Paul put it this way: "Consider yourselves to be dead in sin, but alive to God in Christ Jesus" (Romans 6:11). If you believe Jesus is your Savior, move forward today with confidence and peace in your new identity.
