This is the Hudson Vineyard Church's final post.

Our church family was heartbroken to lose Eddie Garcia, one of our church's founding fathers, to cancer on Oct 11.

Please join us at 11am this Saturday, Nov 12 at Woodcliff Community Church (7605 Palisade Ave in North Bergen) for a memorial service where Eddie's family and friends can seek the comfort of Christ and encourage one another to carry on in following Jesus Christ because of Eddie's authenticity and surrender.

Eddie's life will be celebrated through what he was known for: worshipping Jesus and sharing from the heart. As he would have loved it, refreshments and fellowship will follow in the church's basement room after the service.

We hope you can join us to thank God for sharing Eddie with us and allowing so many to see Christ through his life.

We also hope to provide a Facebook Live feed of the service for anyone unable to make it to the service.

Dear Friends,

In 1 Thessalonians 5:18, we are instructed to do this:

"IN EVERYTHING GIVE THANKS; FOR THIS IS GOD'S WILL FOR YOU IN CHRIST JESUS."

I can't say it's been easy to do this during the emotional roller coaster ride of closing a church. Many tears have been shed, and many more will come on Sunday. I think it's fair to say that people get very attached to their church communities. The Lord has knitted our hearts together and now we go in many different directions.

And yet, when we stop and reflect on all that the Lord has done in our midst and in our lives. WE HAVE MUCH TO BE THANKFUL FOR......

-His Presence that will continue to abide in us and go with us.
-All that He has done to equip us and prepare us for kingdom service.
-Friendships that will last a lifetime (and beyond!!)
-The new opportunities that come when we follow Him.

See you guys on Sunday.....

This Sunday at 3PM, we will look at some Scriptures that consider GOD'S AGENDA for our lives. **No live stream this Sunday**

Do you ever question God's goodness and His faithfulness? All of us do at one time or another. Maybe the problem is our understanding of what a good God should give us. Many times we think God should give us a life of comfort, ease and pleasure. The American dream right?

Doing some things a little bit different (what else is new). Bring your reading glasses if you need them.

This 500-year-old prayer has been a great gift to me over the years. When confronted by great suffering and events around me that seem to be spiraling out of control, it is helpful to remember that God's thoughts are not mine, nor are his ways like mine. Out of the greatest evil ever done on earth—the crucifixion of Jesus—has come the greatest good in history.

He is risen! I offer this prayer for us as we consider the truth of the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.

"I PRAY THAT THE EYES OF YOUR HEART MAY BE ENLIGHTENED IN ORDER THAT YOU MAY KNOW THE HOPE TO WHICH HE HAS CALLED YOU, THE RICHES OF HIS GLORIOUS INHERITANCE IN HIS HOLY PEOPLE, AND HIS INCOMPARABLY GREAT POWER FOR US WHO BELIEVE. Dear Friends,

In Acts chapter 6, the people are asked to pick seven individuals to oversee the distribution of food to the widows. They had to be:

FULL OF THE SPIRIT AND WISDOM.

I've always found it interesting that something as mundane as overseeing
the distribution of food had such a high requirement.

Pray for Afghanistan

🇦🇫🙏🏽 If you’ve been on social media for even five minutes, you’ve probably seen the posts about our Afghani brothers and sisters in Christ being in serious danger right now - please be praying for them as most expect to meet Jesus face to face over the next two weeks, as one text directly from someone in Afghanistan shared. Their courage and even joy in the midst of such darkness is incredible and inspiring — a great reminder of the importance of living our lives fully sold out for our King, and making every moment matter for the Kingdom.

If your heart is heavy, bring it before the Lord and let Him give you His perspective and love for His Bride.

We've been sitting under a question Jesus asked at the end of the Parable of the Persistent Widow: BUT HOW MUCH OF THAT KIND OF PERSISTENT FAITH WILL THE SON OF MAN FIND ON THE EARTH WHEN HE RETURNS?

As we've been trying to break down what sincere, true, biblical faith is. I came across a video teaching that expands on this in a healthy way. The speaker is Becket Cook, and he makes commentary on an article entitled: Did Miley Cyrus REALLY come back to faith?
